245/40/18 on 8.5" ET45 REAR OK?

Morning Wheel Gurus

Curious if 245/40/18 will fit on 18x8.5 et45 in the rear. Or would I need more offset, say et50?

Suspension is Swift, on stock fenders, componets & geometry.

Thanks in advance,
-San

Garage List
2009 BMW 135i  [8.50]
taken from http://www.rimsntires.com/specspro.jsp

Suspension clearance: 100% clear (leaves even more room than OEM)
Fenders clearance: Package 2 will stick out 7 mm (0.3'') farther. Acceptable for most cars.
Wheel wells clearance: Will fill out the wheel well by extra 12 mm. Acceptable for most cars.
SPEEDOMETER: When speedometer reads 60mph (96.6km/h) actual speed will be 62.3mph (100.3km/h): 3.8% faster.

get a ruler and see where .3" puts you

Yea I have an Excel sheet that calculated all that. What I don't know is when I install the springs and go lower, what kind of clearances are up inside, during hard accel (squatting) etc.
I read a lot of people run 9.5" wheels with 265+ but most have a LOT more offset, for example Apex puts et62.

Running 17x9 ET45 with 255 RE-71Rs and -2* of camber on a lowered car.

You should be okay. I ran 17x8.5 ET40 w/245 prior with no issues.

Depends on the tire as well, if you get a tire with rounded shoulders, you should be fine. But if you get a square tire like Kumhos, you will probably rub on big bumps.

245/40/18 is wayyy too tall, the correct tire is 245/35/18, .9" taller on the first tire

I have 235/40 Dunlop zII's on stock rears with swift springs, I used to have a 12 mm spacer but got rubbing over large dips at speed and while turning on to an incline. I removed the spacer and all is good, I would say you will need a fender roll, a 245/35 or maybe even a 255/35 would be better.
