Saw this in Queens in my rearview mirror and said to myself wow! M4 looks mean (in a good way) lights front bumper side etc all look great until I saw the exhaust.. At this point I had no clue if it was a M4 or 435i does BMW make an exhaust where its only dual exhaust? I would think not but hey I may not know. Regardless it looked good for what it is!

The mirror, rear bumper, and front fender lack the characteristic M4 lines.

In black it's hard to tell when you're one the road!

But this is a 435, and unfortunately they decided to not just put an extra M badge on the car, but an M4 one. Poor form. But nice car

100% percent a non-M and a regular 4er.

The side mirrors are a dead give away.

Is it just me, or has this sort of behavior been on the increase?

Always look for the mirrors. Easiest way to tell an ///M apart from a non ///M, even on the E46.

Sometimes I see a 435 m sport and for a split second I think it's an M4. They are closer than ever especially with this generation but side by side the M4 looks so much more aggressive.

There's a poser that put an M badge on their 650i m sport in front of my gym. I don't understand why people just can't be proud of what they have…I think "Oh nice car" until I see the fake badge on the trunk then it leaves a sour taste in my mouth.

Sh*t he fooled me for a quick minute lol and come to think about I even saw M seats that's why I got puzzled once I saw the rear but hey to each its own..

It's actually quite simple ...
Look at the roof , it has no CF roof = 435i .
Or has it the powerdome on the hood ?

Not trying to point out that you're wrong. But m cars do come with sunroofs as an option. The mirrors and hood usually can be dead giveaways though.
