We recommend the p3 gauge. Our version includes all of the great standard features of the P3 vent gauge such as:
-complete PNP solution, no cutting required
-boost reading
-coolant temp reading
-intake air temp reading
-exhaust gas temp reading
-rpm and shift light
battery voltage

BUT also includes:
-60-0 brake timer
-100-0 brake timer
-0-60 acceleration timer
-0-100 acceleration timer
-60-130 acceleration timer
-AFR reading

Not to mention, it doesn't take up your entire center vent ( I don't know about you, but I ALWAYS use mine) AND is only $499

The positioning is intentional. Being in the center keeps the gauge from being partially blocked by the steering wheel and withing the line of sight while driving. Just like the placement of the climate controls and iDrive screen.

The Awron is one of those items in which you do get what you pay for, highly essential for monitoring critical information as their S55 is being pushed.

Yes, there are 2 types of Boost Scaling ranges available - standard (1 BAR) and extended (2 BAR):

This short clip also shows the Exhaust Valve Control and CEL Delete features in action.

Both the P3 and the Awron are nice; I have the Awron, and I love it. I can handle the loss of one center vent; the same total amount of air still gets pushed out, it just comes from one less vent.

Exactly, the air doesn't disappear - it's simply rerouted to the remaining vents.

Sal - I agree that the partial vent cover is preferable for me also - the Awron is impressive but over the top for me and living in Houston I simply cannot do without the central vent - not happening.

So the normal P3 as a fully installed unit (i.e. pre-mounted in a replacement OEM vent) goes for $449 ($389+$60 for vent). Does the upgraded unit you are offering for $499 also include the pre-installed replacement vent?

I've been thinking of going stage 1 myself. Where did you go through the firewall to attach the P3 boost wire?

I went with the P3 and am very happy with it. Love the OEM look, partial vent retention.

I haven't noticed any issue with visibility from the wheel.

There's a small plug-in the firewall above and just left of the brake pedal I poked a small hole with a needle and slid the wire through that so he would have a air and water tight connection.

yes.. you just need to run a wire from the gauge to the JB4 MAP / TMAP harness.

just installed the Awron gauge recently, loving it. Almost "too much" data

but super easy to use, extremely OEM look (a few non-bmw folks that have been in the car since didn't even realize the mod - they thought it came that way from the factory), and a simply beautiful display thanks to the oled panel.
