M/S EVC Module on Euro Delivery

I'm wondering if anyone can give me some advice. I may eventually go to a JB4, but planning on getting the M/S EVC module for my car at the start. If I do go to JB4, the M/S will get sold at that point.

I'm picking the car up in Munich in 4 weeks, and am curious if there's any reason I shouldn't buy the M/S and bring it with me. Does anyone have pics of the installation/removal?

I'll be leaving some of my hotels very early in the morning, and it may be advantageous to be able to quiet the car down at start-up with closed valves. Same thing goes for tunnels/empty passes. I'd love to be able to just leave the valves open and hear her sing!

Thanks for the input!

Installation is only 4 wires, takes about 15 minutes. All you need is a pair of pliers and a 10mm socket.

Feel free to contact me directly and I can go over the steps with you in detail beforehand, as well as get you set up when ready.

It is pretty easy but as a first time installer took me a bit longer then 15 mins. Getting the wires off the speakers is a PITA until you figure out how they clip.

Thanks for the quick response, Tom. I was under the impression that this was a plug and play solution, not requiring splicing/tapping. Is there anything offered that would allow this to plug right into OBD so no wires need to be tapped/spliced? I'm looking for a quick in/ quick out solution - I know you had a "demo unit" that you could show the functionality off on a customers actual car - I'm guessing that you use some type of harness to do this. Is that something that you could ship the EVC with?

I'm definitely not looking to splice or tap prior to actually getting the car in the US.

The module and connections are easily accessible and out of sight.

This may be an option in the near future, but the idea is to keep the OBD2 open for other devices/diagnostics and not clutter up the interior - making it appear OEM in nature.

Hey bud, have you looked at the VSC-2 ? It's supposed to be plug and play... Easily reversible. I haven't tried it myself yet but it's on the shopping list depending how loud my soon to be installed exhaust is.

Thanks Wah, but I don't want to be tinkering around under the car in Europe. Was hoping that there was a PnP OBDII solution that I could plug in just after leaving welt, and then remove when dropping off in Zurich - toss in my luggage and bring it back home. A forum member did PM me with a suggestion that seems close to what I'm looking for - it is the BMW CanFlap module. I'll look into that over the weekend but it might be the answer for me. Alternatively, I'll leave it stock while in Europe and not care about waking up other hotel guests!
