Arrow New to M3post | eNineZero M3 Progression Thread

Hi guys, this winter I picked up a 2008 M3 Sedan 6-Speed in Jerez Black on Novillo Fox Red. I've been on E90post.com for years and have owned 3 E90's and now I finally got my 4th, although this time it is my dream car the M3!

I have finally had a chance to drive it after it sat in the garage for 3 months waiting for winter to disappear. So far I am very pleased with all aspects of the car.

The car came lowered on springs (not sure what kind) and has spacers all around. In the last couple of months I've installed blackline tail lights, and LED angel eyes.

Today I replaced the air filter with a drop-in K&N, the old one was definitely due for replacement. My initial impressions: the car now sounds phenomenal, what a difference! It has an amazing growl, I can't believe a drop in filter made that much difference in sound.

Plans for the future include an AK Style Carbon Lip or Carbon Splitters, exhaust, gloss black kidney grills, painted markers, and possibly wheels.

Here are some iPhone pics, I will have better photos as weather improves.

Looks fantastic! How hard is it to swap out the filter? I would like to replace mine with K&N someday.

Thanks, it's very easy, took about 10 minutes. Great upgrade, get it for the sound as there is no noticeable increase in power.

I plan to get the K&N filter in a few weeks.

Here are some install info to reference:

Yes a quick job, the filter cover only has to come off so less than the video show.

Ninezero, does the filter increase induction noise even with the cover mounted, or do you leave the filter open?

Thanks

Congrats! Always wanted to move into an M3 myself but will probably keep the current 328 as my daily and add an F8x M one day.

Cars look great!

Went for a drive this afternoon and took some proper photos. The filter sounds insane, I recommend this upgrade to everyone.

Something about Blackline taillights I find so much more OG than LCI's. Nice car

Update

Quick update, installed:

- Megan Racing exhaust
- Gloss black kidney grills
- Carbon fiber splitters

The exhaust sounds great, nice & subtle inside and amazing outside. I am still waiting for it to break-in. I will post better photos and a video in the coming weeks.

Nice looking E90! Are you planning on driving it year round? What camera are you using?

Wish K&N made a dry filter. I've had issues with their wet filters in the past, and switched to AFE dry filters. No issues what so ever.
