Is the AR 3" and the ER 4" ?? Same Power?

So I am doing some research on which DP to get. I went with a AR on my 135 and thought it was truly a piece of art, and performed exceptionally. Sounded awesome.

Some q's:

Is the AR 3" and the ER 4" ?

If that is the case, how could the ER make the same power?

Assuming I am going to go downpipe + tune, and that is it (maybe run e85 once in a while) - is the 4" too much?

thanks,

The stock snails don't flow enough air to even need 4". You might have a deeper sound form it though.

They are both the same size (3" pipe)

Stock on Left, ER in MIDDLE and ar design on RIGHT

We've installed both sets on our M3 so if you have any questions let me know.

Ok, I was trying to make sense of how similar sized they look in the picture, as I saw the picture.....THEN saw a forum vendor marketing the ER as a 4" DP....I guess their wrong.

Mike - how is the fitment on both? I saw you post that the 02's fit better on the AR, simply due to their placement. Any other thoughts?

They were probably confused

Fitment was perfect for both so it would be difficult to recommend one over the other as finish, welds, fit etc. were great.
