E92 M3 Project Track Toy @petrolheed #projectTT
Lads,
I've just treated myself to what will be my ultimate Track Toy - a completely stock 2008 e92 M3 with manual box. My intentions are to track as much as possible during the coming season including Spa and two trips to the Nurburgring. As she stands just now I have a list as long as my arm of things I want to do, with the main ones being (no particular order): Coilovers - KW Clubsport 3way Uprated brakes / BBK - Pads/ Lines/ Fluid/ AP Racing Track wheels - Apex ARC 8's 18x10/10.5 Recaro SPG's Schroth 4 pt harnesses with harness bar Rear seat delete OEM wheel retrim in Alcantara OEM exhaust mod CAE Short shifter - Already ordered I am therefore open to all suggestions on which route to go with the above parts. I've listed the parts I think I want but nothing is set in stone if you can provide a convincing argument / alternative. I'll be updating as I go on my instagram account @petrolheed #projectTT Look forward to your ideas! The Shifter has arrived from Germany |

Cat delete too for a bit more oomph.
I'd go square over 10.5 in back but personal preference. I don't feel like I'm lacking rear grip with a square setup, and it allows for rotation, more tire life, etc. Will be a fun project! Great platform for a track car. |

The CAE shift rod is reinforced and is of a different design from OEM so the shift should be more precise as you will feel less deflection. Not sure how 'noticeable' the difference would be but it makes sense to change it at the same time. Picture of the OEM shift rod for reference.

Did a weigh in - fat bastard at 1580kg and thats with rear seats out (I'll scale them as well though).
Also made a small start on CAE prep which should go in this weekend and thought I'd get the Conti's used up a little Last edited by petrolheed; 04-12-2015 at 03:40 PM.. |
