axleback/slip on exhaust suggestion for 2015 bmw m4

Hey guys,

I am ready to purchase an exhaust (axleback/slip on) in the coming weeks at the latest. Stainless steel or chrome tips.
I' am looking for the BEST SOUNDING exhaust with additional performance as a bonus. Want to keep it around $3000 max all in.

Anyone who who has first hand knowledge, I.E., has it own their personal car, would be ideal. Brands I am looking at:

DINAN: Not out yet?
REMUS
AFE
AKROPOVIC
EISENMANN
MEISTERSHAFT

THANK YOU!!
ANTHONY

3k is "dirt cheap" for an exhaust? BMW has brainwashed us good.

Any exhaust with out valves should be no where in the 3k$ range....any good muffler shop with a mandrel bender can make something that will work and sound approximately the same as those...since no resonators and no valves its up to the muffler section to create the sound\ muffle it.
M tax indeed

The prices are where they are at because people are willing to pay for it. 5k for a bunch of metal pipes that do nothing IMHO is ridiculous, but I am the minority here as they sell well! Must be nice to be super wealthy!

You may be interested in Magnaflow sport exhaust. This one goes right after secondary cats and replaces center resonator with x-pipe.
It also uses stock valve flap mechanism and it is right under 3k usd.
http://www.magnaflow.com/02product/s...ne=all&id=9787

Personally, I am looking to go with this exhaust when I get bored with current setup.

Edit: Wah told me that you can get $700 discount on this exhaust brand new. PM me if interested.

BMW had nothing to do with it... it is the manufacturers who charge big prices and get it. Supply and demand. We get what we deserve... if no one was willing to pay the big $$ then prices would come down but we just HAVE to get the exhaust we want and enough people are willing to pay the premium

It doesn't help when BMW prices their own "performance" exhaust, a dealer installed accessory for their top-tier performance car, as high as they do. They certainly aren't giving that thing away.

Understood... but yet people still pay the big price

If no one was willing to spend the money (or not enough people) then it would change. The issue is people ARE willing to pay that much so that's what BMW charges. The non-OEM manufacturers then follow along. There is a BMW premium because history has shown BMW owners are willing to pay the higher amount. Like I said... supply and demand.

realistically with a lease the bmw exhaust isnt very expensive at all, with march residuals you are paying roughly $1800 for it

Idk. None of the other exhausts that were listed were anywhere near 3k! LOL

OP, Have you heard RPI?

I would guess that aftermarket exhausts have similar depreciation values if one were to part out their car and resell the exhaust after 3 or so years. But that doesn't mean that they're not overpriced for what they are.

My point was simply that BMW's pricing for their own exhaust is likely some sort of indication as to what others might charge for theirs.

I couldn't get over the pricing for the exhausts on my 987. So little material with such a high price tag. I do realize that economies of scale come into play, but even still, I do think it's a bit out of hand.

AWE sounds the best and it's just a tad above $3k from Supreme. Magnaflow sounds good but has ugly tips. AA also sounds good but not valved if that matters to you.

Very true. At the same time, the cars get more expensive so the parts will only do the same.

That said, I like my M Performance exhaust. I have all the M Performance parts they make for my F80 M3 (sans cf mirror caps and side skirts) and they really make a huge difference in appearance. Of course BMW is going to make you pay to make the car look better.
