ER Downpipes w/ Stock Exhaust + JB4 Review
Just installed my ER Downpipes and JB4 on Map 2.
The power delivery is excellent the car runs like a beast! Downpipes definitely help the spool its basically instant. You hit the gas in sport + and you get immediate power. I really like the sound of the downpipes with the stock exhaust and the flap mod (flaps open all the time). It gives it a deeper growl that the stock exhaust really needs! If you don't have a tune and downpipes your missing out!! |

Would downpipes still help with the spool without a tune?

Downpipes with stock exhaust an open valves is plenty loud and sounds great imo. I think its wasteful for a full exhaust I don't believe its worth the cost for the power.

I've heard this setup in person and rode in the car as well. I believe it's just as loud, if not slightly louder than a car with stock dp and aftermarket system. It sounds good but if paired with a good aftermarket I think he sound would be louder and more refined.

I think the fit-ment of the ER downpipes was perfect I had no issues with the install. If you have downpipes where the fitment is not perfect then that's when a flex pipe is more important. The only other thing I am going to do is get the magnaflow tips I'm not buying a whole exhaust I think it's not worth it. As far as drone I mean there is a little bit around 60 when your under a slight load but I don't think it's annoying or to loud. If you had downpipes with the flaps connected and then open them in sport + only if u wanted the extra sound would be a good way for those looking for power but not wanting the sound all the time. But everyone's definition of loud is different. I think the road noise from the pilot sports is more annoying. I'll take some Go Pro Hero 4 Black (One of my favorite sponsors!!) videos today. |

Don't forget the charcoal filter delete. You can hear a bit of the intake sound which is great. Best part of this is the mod is free. Gotta love that.

+10000000 The setup you have is very popular for a reason. It just adds so much in terms of power / sound for a very reasonable cost.
