front left tire temp higher than the rest?

I've noticed that my front left tire consistently runs 10-20 degrees (f) higher than the others at operating temperature. Do you guys get the same results on your cars?

Trying to figure out if this is due to engine heat or a potential alignment issue (although the car drives fine and doesn't seem to pull).

I was just about to ask the same question, although it looks like in Seattle we run a little cooler overall.

I don't think it's an alignment issue either. Probably just a cooling system effect. There are a ton of heat exchangers up front there and I think there's one on that side for the DCT?

Should make all the air pressures the same and check again.

I noticed the same thing and bet most of us will.

Can't help but think this is due to the high temp water cooler being in front of this tire. I would think this could explain the difference assuming you have proper alignment.

Same here and was wondering also... All pressures identical here. I've also done a reset and checked pressures again twice. Sensors say FL hotter. Between 4-12 degrees usually.

I'm not well versed in the technological side of tire cause/effect things, but might have a lead on this one. In looking back at the weight threads for F8x's just yesterday, I noticed that when cars are on corner scales the FL tire is consistently the one bearing the heaviest load. I'm not meaning by 10-20 lbs, either. The metrics I recall were something like 100+ lbs on the FL corner compared with the FR, and both I seem to remember being about 40-50 lbs higher than rear tire loads.

Could be the cause of the higher temps.

If all else constant, the driver sits closest to the front left corner = more weight = higher temp. Just a guess.

UK owner here, (rhd) same issue. Nothing to do with driver weight.
Assuming heat exchangers are the cause.

Any new info would be welcome.

Hi all,

I also noticed this a few weeks ago in my F80 ZCP (MY2017; LH). I thought it was a tire-related issue but it's not, since I changed my winter wheels to the summer wheels and the issue was not solved. Temperature difference is approximately 3-4°C celsius. On the other hand, there is no significant difference in tire pressure. Hopefully more information soon.

tolerance in electronics, maybe you were taking turns on the opposite side. Don't worry about a psi.
