Anyone with Akra slip-on?

I haven't found any vids of this. I know most people are doing the Evo, but as an equivalent comparison to the MPE, anyone heard just the Akra slip-on?

Thats a big 10-4. Have it. Love it. Throatier. Less rattly. Only a bit louder than stock so far, but I've only got about 1000 miles on it. Should get a little louder as it breaks in. I didn't want real loud. Just good and mean. That's what I got. I'm happy. Bought it from EAS. My stock exhaust sounded awful, was embarrassing. Akrapovic slip on completely fixed it.. I give it two thumbs up.

sorry, slip ons are too quiet for me. i had it on my car and immedately regreted spending the money. but since I've bought it already, i ended up removing my secondary cats. now it sounds really good. i would suggest you do the same, save some money and do not go with evo. cut the secondary cats (should cost you no more than $150) and you're done.

this is pure slip-on. this sounds lounder because it is inside a garage. but outside, on the street, barely any difference from stock. like seriously. BARELY.

Agree. I have the slip-on too. Works well for me. Definitely not loud. But sounds better than stock. Exactly what I wanted. Just a little more than stock.

Yeah, these videos are so difficult to judge.

The M-Performance Exhaust is just a slip-on, correct? But it seems louder than the Akra... maybe because of that H-section doo-hicky? [Not sure the official term]

Do you live in CA? We are having a meet in Slo in March. I posted it up in the cali section if your interested. Should be a lot of various exhaust set ups that you can hear in person.

IMO any slip on is not going to change the sound that much if at all. The only way to really change the characteristics of the sound is to get into the mid pipes and or DPs. but thats just my thoughts! Everyone hears things differently that why its so important if you can to hear the set ups in person. Bimmerfest is coming up as well and that event will guarantee you the ability to hear pretty much every set up

Thanks for the info! I'm in NorCal. SLO is a lot closer than EAS or SoCal! I'll look it up, and try to make it.

BUT, I'd venture to guess all the vids of the MPE by users/owners, as opposed to the safety car, were just slip-on's, and they sounded quite a bit different to my ears.

So I have heard it in person. I did it on two-three clients cars and say it is a significant improvement over stock. The valves open/closed are much more pronounced, and it gives a much deeper tone.

I wish I had videos but the only videos we had were of the Akrapovic Evolution System and the Evolution with the Catless Downpipe.

We have the system's in stock if you are interested - let me know!
