BBS - FI-R Photos from the PRI show! High res pics and official weights added 12/15

By now I am sure most of you have seen some of the preliminary info and photos from the Essen Motor Show where BBS Germany showed the upcoming FI-R model which features an evolution in engineering over the infamous BBS FI wheel.

Here are a few photos of the wheel in silver from the BBS booth. I'll be at the show tomorrow and will take some more high res pics while there to share. The CI-R pre-production wheel and CH-R II wheel are also being displayed.

UPDATE:
Porsche 991 GT3 spec

20x9 weight 7.9 kg ( 17.46 lbs )

20x12 weight 9.3 kg ( 20.55 lbs )

This comes out to about 1-2 lbs of weight savings per wheel compared to the already featherweight FI wheel! This is quite an accomplishment especially given the attention to wheel rigidity that BBS incorporates in all designs.

I wonder how much lighter than RI-D's they will be. And if there will be an RI-R?

Do we know what type of alloy is being used?

RI-D PFS 20x9 = 7.9KG also but I can't find a comparison that is not "Permanent Fitment System" which seems to be 500 grams lighter than normal: http://www.bbs-japan.co.jp/en/products/ri_d.html

The RI-D wheel uses a special 7000 series aluminum and heat treating process that adds to its cost over a normal FI even.

The FI-R uses a 6000 series aluminum like the FI wheel does.

Cool. So I guess an RI-D should be coming too. If I'm going to blow $8K on wheels, $2K more for another 10% savings isn't much.

The FI-R design may actually come in lighter than the RI-D. Have to wait and see the final numbers

Official weights I had posted above. So yours weight listed is pretty darn close. Can't wait to see the mounted pics!
