Confirmed Fitment - Apex EC-7 18x10 ET33
My car is a F82 M4 with completely stock suspension (adaptive) and regular brakes (non-ceramic)
I just finished installing a set of square Apex EC-7 18x10 ET33 wheels with 275/35/18 BFG Rival Tires. I also installed 90MM M14 Apex Studs. Front: The rim was rubbing against the shock with no spacers and also with a 5mm spacer. I now have 12mm spacers upfront and confirm no rubbing. Rear: No rubbing with no spacers but I put on 5mm spacers in the back for a wider stance. The car sits very, very high!! Lowering it is much needed. I've got a set of KW Clubsports on the way and I'll be lowering it and adding about -3 camber upfront and haven't decided about rear camber yet. The rivals feel much stickier than the stock mpss (which are rubbish in my opinion. |

I will but I can already tell you they are stickier than NT05s. I've run NT05 on the street before, they're good tires probably better wet traction but for dry street - Rival are really good.
I plan to run Rivals as my street setup and BFG R1 in 285 square for my track setup (on another set of EC7s) |

You may need a 10mm spacer up front with the Clubsports, we had to in order to clear the perch.

You are correct - I currently have 12mm APEX spacers in front and 5mm at the rear. |

hard to be definitive but I have had a wide variety of cars and run different tires. I had MPSS on my Z06 and the MPSS on the M4 felt much less stickey, very hard. I believe BMW and Michelin customized the mpss compound for longetivity at the expense of grip. When I had my NT05 on my older E92 M3, I ran them on the track on wet days and they were sticky.
I would rate tires that I have experience with on my own personal scale as follows ----- Least sticky, feeling most hard and least grip - M4 Stock MPSS - MPSS that I had on my Z06 - NT05 - BFG Rival - R888 (R comp) - NT01 (R comp) - BFG R1 (R comp) ------ Most sticky, most grippy - |

so a couple of updates. First of all I now have KW Clubsports and the car is lowered. I am running -2.8 camb front and -2.5 rear. Pretty aggressive more oriented to track.
I found out that BFG Rivals are a bit wider at 275 compared to other 275 width tires and I was getting rubbing with KW Clubsports with 12mm spacers in front. The car now has 15mm spacers in front with no rubbing on the shock body or rubbing on the upper fender etc. no rubbing at all. |

Did you do a swift spring conversion on the CS's. How do you like the club sports on the street...too firm? The 575# spring rate upfront on the CS seems too agressive for street driving considering stock spings are 185# in front

Yes, I think he's getting the rear / front spring rates mixed up on the swift springs. Nevertheless, you'd use the springs the come with the CS coilovers like you're doing. Did KW note the spring rates for the CS?

Good to hear you find the CS acceptable on the street, they are a nice set up! Are you getting any odd noises from them/camber plates vs. Stock set up or are they pretty quiet?
Spring rates on CS are 575# front / 800# rear. Im probably gonna go with a custom spring rate converions if I do CS. Really wanted to hold out for ohlins monotube vs. CS Twintube 2-way, but ohlins look like there a year out Last edited by kitesurfer; 12-25-2014 at 08:06 PM.. |

yep I find them very comfortable. And being adjustable I can just go down a few clicks on comp/rebound and I'm good for the street. Absolutely no noise from camber plates or springs etc.
I too thought about holding out for a JRZ setup but KW CS is excellent too and more than enough for me. Maybe eventually I'll get JRZ or something higher end. |

Do you think a 295 Hoosier R6 with 10.5 x 18 apex arc 8 in ET 27 would fit the rear? Sounds like a 275 on a 9.5 wheel with an ET of 25 would fit the front. I have a staggered set I used on my 1M id like to reuse.
Thanks |

Rear would +19mm over stock. Plus a 295 tire, that is pushing it.

w00tw00t - are you running the 2-way or 3 -way CS's ?
I've been told by APEX The ARC8 design will not clear calipers. Per APEX Only confirmed to clear calipers are the EC7s, as of a couple of weeks ago PS7s still unknown. |
