I have never had a set of ADV yet so I can't comment on them, I see a lot of people running them though and they make some awesome designs.

I personally currently run HRE P101's (my car:http://f80.bimmerpost.com/forums/sho....php?t=1029704) and I have had a couple other models (p40, p43) in the past and I can honestly say they have been the best rims I have ever owned. They are top notch construction and the designs are amazing. The re sale market for these are also good which is a nice comfort knowing that when it comes time to sell you wont have any issues. I have been more then satisfied with HRE wheels

If you do a lot of research, HRE tend to have the very best reputation of any wheel and ADV are more controversial. To me, that says something. Maybe better marketing for HRE but I suspect there is more to it. A reputation, such are HRE's, can really only be built through great customer service, very high quality and consistency over time. ADV doesn't have that same image, generally speaking, so that says something to me.

My caveat is that I don't own either so my comment is simply a reflection of what I perceive to be the broader view of the two brands over a wide range of car forums I frequent. If I were choosing today, it would absolutely be HRE.

Both are top notch. I agree ADV1 is more blingy looking. It basically comes down to what design you like.

Thank you!

I am running to large of a tire in the front IMO and not enough in the back. I am getting slight rubbing at hard sharp full turns in the front. Long story on the reason I have those spec'd tires, but I would recommend a 265 front and 295 or 305 in the rear. Now that is the 20" specs I am not sure about the 19". I am not a wheel guru whatsoever I usually ask a bunch of the forum members and go from there. My current tires are 275/20 front and 285/20 rear. Hope that helps

PLEASE. Top notch and ADV do not belong in the same sentence.

It's a LONG read but worth it. Cliffs: ADV comes in this thread and starts to B#LLSH@T the forum about being TUV certified, but won't post their TUV certification because they're afraid other wheel manufactures will copy it. Then BAM, HRE comes in and posts their TUV certification for all to see.

Agree with most of the comments but I'd say that HRE is not better at marketing than ADV1. ADV1 is hands down the KING of marketing and that's how they got to where they are. HRE has the better reputation as they've been around for 21 years and have a stellar reputation from everyone that has used them. I'd also disagree that ADV1 is "blingy" as they make some wheels that look exactly like HRE's and other top notch designs. When I think of blingy I think Forgiato or Asanti.

I don't think you can go wrong with either choice frankly.

We have done both on the F82's - and honestly it comes to a matter of taste and the style.

The HRE P101's have a lot more curvatures to them, where the ADV5.0's are a bit more boxy. That is primarily the difference.

Here is an image of the Matte Yas Marina Blue AutoArmor M4 we did on HRE P101's!

Give us a call - we would be more than happy to talk further about this

NOT EVEN IN THE SAME CATEGORY! ADV.1 history is shady
They used to be 360 forged, shut down screwed all their customers and opened ADV.1
They are a local company here in Miami. Do you self a favor buy HRE, ADV.1 is junk.
For morons in Maseratis and Lambo that know nothing about cars.

HRE/BBS/VOLK/FORGELINE/CCW The only companies I would spend 4k+ on wheels.
