My Black 513M Winter Setup

Bought some 513M 18's from another forum member. iND powder-coated in gloss black, installed 12mm spacers and mounted them with my Pirelli Sottozero's. Really happy with how it turned out. I hope to add some coilovers when the polar vortex decides to stop ruining my life. Big thanks to Cat @ Anthony at iND. They were great!

Tires are Pirelli Sottozero.
255/40/18 front
265/40/18 rear
Price mounted, coated, with tires and TPMS sensors was around $3300 or a bit less. Not terrible considering the winter setup (640M) offered by BMW is $2800 plus tax - and with no TPMS sensors. So really only about $200 more...

I also put the same exact tires on my stock 19s, 255 35 front and 275 35 rear and I like how quite these tires are.

I agree! No additional noise over the Michelin PSS and they are attractive - don't have a tread pattern that screams, "I'm just for snow".

I purchased TPMS sensors on ebay. They are OEM sensors. I paid $280 for all four - delivered. Nice to not have to dismount tires from each wheel whenever the seasons change.

Thanks for the response. I was just wondering if the $325 I'm paying is within the range of what these should go for.

Did you use 12mm spacers at all 4 corners? What brand did you go with? Thanks!

Yep, 12mm around. Brand is Macht Schnell. I was going to go with 15mm front and 12mm rear but the 15's were out of stock at the time of install... Happy with it though- enough room for the suspension drop...

Thanks for the info... one last question. Any issues with traction control going with the 255/265 set up?

Nope - the tire circumference is only slightly smaller front to back - but more importantly, the RATIO from front to back is identical to the stock tire size. For this reason, there's no issue with tripping traction control in unusual instances, and no problem with sending appropriate power through the rear LSD. I am no expert by any means, but as far as I know, it's a bigger deal messing with the circumference and ratio in X-drive cars - or any awd car for that matter. It makes a difference with LSDs as well, but, like I said, my ratio is identical to OEM...
