Anyone on here have any experience or strong opinions on using a water deionizer? I hand washed my car last week (BSM is the color) using my hose at home. After drying the car off I noticed some tiny water spots all over the car. I tried to mist n shine and the spots are etched into the clear.
I was thinking about having a shop clear up those spots and then apply some ceramic coating. Or was considering getting the spots cleared up and then buying a water deionizer for handwashing. I guess I could do both but trying not to spend too much cash. Curious if anyone else has experience with these units. I'd hate to buy one and then still get water spots so want to make sure they 100% work.

Added the Bimmer Network heat shield the other day!
Can't really see it once the air box and OCC are reinstalled

Had the tenth annual oil change today and learned that the motor mounts and thrust arm bushings have reached the ends of their lives. Considering taking the opportunity to install M2 thrust arms to go along with the M2 LCAs already onboard.

Ordered my M2 thrust arms with urethane bushings to fit directly on my 228i to go along with my older M2 LCAs. Source is Bimmerworld who sells the package with or without the LCAs. Great local dealer will take in these parts to do the installation.

Where did you buy the full kit. Front rear and side skirts, as looking to buy one this week for my F23 and concerned on quality and fit. OEM just too much really. Thanks in advance. |

Only thing I’d do differently is spray some top coat on the original splitter/wing mirror caps to give them some more protection, but they were cheap enough that it’s not the end of the world!

Simple
Just a simple oil change that wasn’t simple. That oil filter cap is a bi_-tck to get off and on.
Got it done. I won’t do it again. Off to dealer next time. Hap |

Finally warm enough and a long weekend to put in the Konis. The first corner's in. Going to tackle the other 3 corners tomorrow... before the beer supply runs low.
No shortage of rust here. Edit: 3 done, last one is halfway there. Doing fronts without using a spring compressor slows things down but it works. Edit 2: Finished, going for test drive. PS: use an extension when fastening the top mount screw closest to the positive terminal or you'll get sparks. Last edited by freakystyly; 05-19-2024 at 01:36 PM.. |
