hard pass.
I just had a 330i xdrive as a loaner and I hated the way the 4 banger sounds. Yes, I know this will sound different, but nope, going to stick with the wonderful inline 6s. |

IMO - This is an exciting offering for the X2 and complements the X lineup well. It's exactly what I'd expect for X2 in comparison to other vehicles in the X lineup. Can't wait to see the ordering / pricing guide.
Keep the B58 for the X4. Sweet! |

They stopped selling X1's with the N55 in 2015, so I don't get the disappointment - you've had three years to make peace with the M35i being a 2.0L. It hasn't been a secret, we've known for years this is what it was going to be. It does get the 8-speed you wanted, though it's an Aisin unit, not ZF.

Just a half an hour ago, I just saw a black Mazda mini SUV that looked identical to this. Damn everything looks the same today.
I was on my beach cruiser and I actually had to pedal up to it just to see a glimpse of the rear logo and it was a Mazda, I could've swore was an older X3 BMW. BMW needs to be way more aggressive and step it up! |

Seriously though, stock exhaust / options I assume? Any 4-banger BMW with stock exhaust sounds terrible. Dress it up with M-Sport exhaust (such as here) or an aftermarket exhaust and SAT and it's the best 4 cylinders I've heard IMO. N20 and B48 are pretty impressive motors. I love the way my N20 sounds. Everyone says how much they suck and while every N20 doesn't run Methanol injection and a JB4 etc...I just can't get rid of this thing, it's too much fun to drive for the price. Granted, it was a heavily optioned 320i w/ RWD etc...I think they get more criticism than praise. I think this X2 would be pretty brutal in this non-M35i configuration, I will tell you that. This M35i looks slick, but as with everything, I'm curious to see the price/options and if the features of the vehicle speak to a nice overall value for the consumer. |

cool Mini!!! I mean X2. Would definitely want if it was RWD biased and engine was mounted in correct direction for a BMW.

not surprised that it has some z4 influences. also, 18" and 17" brake discs? something tells me thats a typo. interior seats look great but that shifter still doesnt work for me. its too tall and odd looking. curious how close in price this will be to the x3 or even the upcoming m340i

These M performance models are a joke. They’re like how the base models used to be.

Nah, hated my 235 - most disappointing BMW I’ve ever had. Pushed me into a Porsche.
There’s no comparison between the 235 and real Ms, like my F80 or my dad’s M2.

First- I love it. My main concern is how much it will cost....
MSRP of my loaded-out X2 xDrive28i build is $53,760 delivered. I'm hoping my X2 M35i build would end up around $56k. Could it be possible to build a $59k X2? For further consideration: MSRP of my loaded-out X3 M40i is $69,520 delivered. The X2 M35i would have to be less expensive than the upcoming M340i riiiiight?
