About to make moves on an F32. Input needed!
So I have a few questions before I pull the trigger on this deal. The car I'm looking at is a 428i xDrive, M-Sport, MG, Coral Red interior, heated front seats, driver assistance package & sport auto transmission
1.) The car comes standard with the LED BMW "angel eyes" right? If so, why opt for the lighting package? 2.) What are the benefits of the technology package/do you find it necessary? (I use my phone for GPS) 3.) What are the benefits of the premium package/do you find it necessary? 4.) Does it come standard with a sunroof? Lastly, am I missing any major options or accessories that you guys can't live without OR wish you had ordered? Thanks in advance guys. Last edited by DZ153; 06-18-2014 at 12:54 AM.. |

2.) I find the Tech Package extremely useful. I use Navigations quite often, even more so the Heads Up Display. The HUD is my most treasured feature and now that I am used to it, it's hard to turn away from it. It's nice seeing directions, selecting music, or calling someone while looking directly through the windshield. If you don't think you need this feature, then don't get it. But personally, I wanted it without a doubt. 3.) Comfort Access. You keep your key in your pocket at all times. Touch the handle to lock/unlock, and just press a button to start/stop the engine. You kick the trunk to open it if your hands are full. It's extremely convenient to not take your key out of your pocket. Also, Lumbar support is great for road trips and back support. 4.) Yes, Moonroof is standard. Since you are getting an xDrive, I made the mistake of not getting DHP. xDrive models only come with the base suspension, even though you have an M-Sport vehicle. (The dealer usually doesn't specify this because they don't know this.) I was lied too about having a sport suspension when I got my M-Sport and later on found out that it was the standard base suspension on my M-Sport vehicle because of xDrive. So I would only recommend to you to get DHP if you want a sporty suspension and xDrive. Anyways, hope my two cents helps!

"Navigation" is the most mis-named option in the BMW catalog. Egregiously misnamed. It includes literally dozens of features that have nothing to do with navigation. Bigger wide HD screen, enhanced instrument cluster display, on board hard drive for music/video storage, additional settings options, HP/torque displays, touch controller, ability to text-to-car with phone and nav instructions, and many, many, many more. I just chuckle every time someone says "I don't need Navigation, my phone can do it" and then fail to spend the $2300 for the "Navigation" option. This option, along with M-Sport brakes at $650, are the single best values in the catalog.
And BMW doesn't help themselves when they offer a "Technology" package which is nothing more than the addition of the HUD to the "Navigation" option. Personally, I wouldn't consider ordering an F32 without at least "navigation". |

I think the must haves in this car are the technology package, premium package and comfort package. I will never get a car again that doesn't have comfort access - never having to take the key out of your pocket is something I quickly got used to and is an awesome feature - you can even open the trunk with your foot.
The 'navigation' like said above is way more than just nav - it includes a ton of options and the new screen is one of the best in the market. |

Heads Up Display which comes with the Tech package is one of my favorite features of my car besides the top down camera Absolutely love not having to look down or at the control screen in the center of the car when driving. In other countries (not USA) the LED lighting package has unique technology that allows the beams to split and do funky things for enhanced lighting at night.

you should just assume my lease. Close to loaded 61K 435. $665 a month tax in. What are they quoting you on the 428?

For me the must have is sport or msport, for the suspension and sport seats. Everything else is optional and depends on taste/priorities. Of course, the nav would feel great to have but I wouldn't break the bank for it.
I'd definitely skip stuff like the tech package and BMW apps. |

must haves for me were M-Sport (Must) Technology Package (Hud is pretty cool) DHP (my car is the only f3x that I've driven, and I can say it handles just as good, if not better than my e90. I cannot relate to anyone who says the handling on these cars suck, must be the DHP) Cold Weather (only wanted heated seats but heated wheel was a cheap addon) Drivers Assistance (Coming from e90, it's pretty hard to see out the back window on the f32, cameras and sensors are helpful) HK

I have seen a lot of posts in other threads about the HUD and it swayed me to get the tech package on my order. Ability to see Navigation instructions, speed limit, etc.
I concur with the driver's assistance package and the heated seats. I guess it just might come down to if you are going to track it, mod it etc. What do you prefer....performance or niceties? Either way, it is going to be a heck of a car. And this forum is going to have you thinking about a ton of stuff you can do to it. Are you planning on keeping it a while or is it a lease? |
