They fit great in our X1 and 3 series cars. I tried to go cheaper on a Graco booster/toddler seat that got good reviews, but it would not fit no matter what I did in my 3 series. Returned it and got a Britax and all was good again. I think BMW does sell a car seat, but why pay more for BMW slap there badge on somebody else's car seat? |

I have used the EvenFlo Triumph LX
Easy to install Reasonably priced Gets good reviews Easy to adjust (wheels on either side can be cranked to tighten straps) My 1st daughter used it and now my 2nd is. One after the other. Been in use for 7 years and held up to the punishment well. The back seat of the F30 is not the most car-seat friendly given the contoured shape. The evenflo fits well using the LATCH anchors. |

We have a 3 month old and use the Chicco KeyFit 30. Have to move the passenger front seat forward a bit but my wife is short so it works for us. Has a good rating also.

Recaro is in the child seat business.

Are we talking about infant seat or toddler?
For infant, my personal favorite is Peg Perego. I have an SIP 30-30, but they also now have the Primo Viaggio 4-35. Check them both out. I find their design easiest to handle when out of car and snapping back into car base. For toddler the Recaro Pro Ride or Performance Ride are winners in my book. Also Peg Perego make a nice one called the Primo convertible.

Was on a holiday in Poland last month and the rental came with a Recaro toddler seat. Worst seat I've ever used. The weight rating was higher than what my son weighs, yet the straps were really tight around his groin area and he would complain about it frequently.

Britax Pavillion fits well in f30. Wife is almost 6feet and she has plenty of legroom in front passenger seat when it the car seat was both facing backwards and forwards.
Buckles are well designed w easy adjust and accessibility, and it's lightweight.

Clek Oobr works great in the back of the 335. The black seat blends in well with the black leather. Also, as the child ages you can remove the back and just use the "booster seat" portion:

Reminds me of the old days when the kids were young and I was on the lookout for the safest but also best looking (i.e. didn't clash with my BMW) car seat. Lots of good suggestions here.

If racing drivers use Recaro to keep them safe shouldn't you do the same for your children??
I have Recaro, I bought the full package, car chair with Isofix, toddler chair, even the pram/stroller is Recaro. Unfortunately it looks like they have stopped making the pram/stroller. I have a 2 year old daughter and 5 week old son, so will have to get a 2nd one. Here is a picture |

recaro seats are the absolute best you can buy. quality is phenomenal and they fit perfect in the BMW. I have both the performance booster seat for my 5 year old and the performance harness convertible for my 2 year old in both our vehicles.
although pricey they are well worth every penny. the color combinations are also great for the kids (my girls love the pink). both kids love the seats and don't complain at all when they are in them. easy to wash the covers and to adjust the seat, which is a plus. |

Absolutely Britax. But the key is in the installation. If done right, the seat should seem like its part of the car. It used to amaze me how poorly some people install child seats.

I use a Combi Cocorro which is one of the smallest seats you can get. I can have it rear facing behind the passenger seat with plenty of room. Don't forget not to use the center seat with latch.

Thanks everyone for the replies. My sister's friend recently bought a certified 2011 328i and loves it. I will pass this info onto her for her 2 younglings.
Dmath, I know exactly what you mean. People worry about the wrong things at times, like talking on the phone and driving and don't think about thier kid up at bat set to hit a home run out of the car because they're not strapped in properly. |

I have both the Britax and the recaro. Rear facing the Britax offered more room to get the child in. Front facing, the recaro is great.
It's really all a matter of the reviews you read and what your budget is. We also have an evenflo one for our babysitter, which is the best for installation. The rest it takes a good 5 minutes or more to get it right |
