Engine weight of the S55?
Please forgive me if this has been discussed, but my search yielded no result.
I read with interest that the new 4 litre TT engine for the AMG GT weighs 205kg. That is pretty heavy, and significantly 5kg heavier than the dry sump version of the current 6.2 NA engine as installed in the SLS. I am wondering if anyone know the weight of the S55? The new engine of the AMG GT will also be used in the C63, without the dry sump presumably so it will be slightly lighter. But it's still a heavy engine and surely will affect the handling of the new C63? |

Well, an S65 is about 445 lbs., and was about 33 lbs. lighter than the S54 in the E46 ///M3. I believe the S55 is about 20-30 lbs. lighter than the S65. I'm sure one of the guys here has the exact figure.

Let me get this straight... You are swapping out parts designed by some of the top engineers in the world because some guys sponsored by a company told you it's "better??" But when you ask the same guy about tracking, "oh no, I have a kid now" or "I just detailed my car." or "i just got new tires."
