I'm Jonesing for a Mod

This being my first BMW one thing I have come to quick realization is the high cost of aftermarket modifications. My most expensive mod to date would be my coilovers. I went with ST coils to save money and installed them myself but even the alignment was costly. The tint was fairly reasonable at less than $200. The rear lip was very inexpensive and the spacers were another 200 dollar bill. Most of these items cost roughly the same no matter what make a vehicle you are driving. But I have run out of reasonably prices mods.

Euro airbox $450, Performance Exhaust $1000, M Sport bumper $1000, wheels $2000, etc.

Do you ever find yourself searching for a mod that you can afford just to curb your need to mod? I do...every day!

I am always looking for a project. Sometimes functional projects are cheap like brakes or rotors.

Caliper painting is a cheap mod, interior trim wrapping.

My next mod is iDrive retrofit which is NOT cheap to say the least. lol

Nope...typically after modding I barely have enough time to work on car maintenance. Next, stop tech pads and zimmerman rotors and brake fluid flush. Then, something will come up.

Most definitely! Lately I've been looking for mods that are wallet friendly. But they are mods that aren't really that cool. Performance brake lever and shifter. Pedals. Crap like that I just really don't care that much about.

So I wait...

I have StopTech drilled/slotted rotors and FWIW, I'm going back to OEMs soon. They look nice but performance wise, it's nothing to write home about.

Well, it is Harold's recommendation from HPAShop so I am going with them. I never have any issues with his recommendations. I was initially going to buy Stop tech drilled rotors but they are made in China and there seem to be more problems recently.

I like the painting of the calipers as an inexpensive mod. What is the product everyone is using for that application?

Sounds like it might be time for a 335i? The potential mods are endless, relatively inexpensive and they add a TON of power.
DCI - $150
Jb4 - $450
DP's - $350
FMIC - $800
CP - $250
BOV - $250
Meth - $500-750
Sorry, I'm biased towards the n54's cause with all those mods they will put down 400+whp which is upwards of 500hp at the crank! But yes I always feel the need to mod my car - even when I can't afford the mods lol.

I think you should be saving up for the performance exhaust, that would of actually been first on the list besides tint.

I found myself focusing on performance upgrades last year and into this spring. I really want to focus on more cosmetic mods at this point (m tech front/rear), full detail.

I tried doing a mix of both, and it got expensive quick.

If anyone wants to donate to my RB or Vargas fund that'd be sweet -__-

PE and Euro Airbox are next on my list. Probably in the reverse order due to cost.

I'm a wedding photographer and here in Oregon wedding season is in full swing so $$ will be rolling in for the next 4 months!

Save the money for a nice trip overseas. Once you realize how much money you put into your car and the mods are worthless when you sell it with the car. It will hit you hard.
