M235 chargepipe questions
Current 2011 335i xdrive owner thinking(well, drooling) about an M235.
Have a question. Has BMW redone the chargepipe? Pictures of stock I see sure is different than my N55's, but I am wondering if it is still plastic or if they finally made the move to metal? Did a search, but didn't see anyone addressing if it was plastic or not. |

I blew up my stock charge pipe on my N55 135 running just a BMW PPK, never tracked the car but i guess i did push pretty hard. That being said it was replaced and after another while of beating on the car with the PPK installed a carless DP and JB4, which i ran ons stage 2 and never had another charge pipe issue again.
That being said another friend of mine with a 135is is running full bolt on pretty much with jb4 on his car and hasn't yet replaced the charge pipe and hes probably nearing 7-8k miles with those mods. But with the plastic charge pipe most people just think its a matter of time. Way i see it ill run it till i blow it and then after bmw replaces it for a new one ill have that swapped out for an aftermarket one.
