Buzzing noise from rear compartment

I installed a new exhaust and now I'm getting a buzzing noise from the sliding compartment at a certain low RPMS. It is VERY annoying. Any way to fix it?

Remove the new exhaust and install the previous one.

That would mean going back to stock. Any way to do it without going back to stock?

You could apply a small bit of damping material to the underside of the panel.

Let us know what ya find. Ever since the PPK was installed in my car there's a very noticeable buzzing in the same location at low RPMs also as the exhaust note changed to be a bit lower/throatier (which is quite nice). May end up having the dealership take a look at it though once the VANOS recall actually starts.

Either stick a mini hand-towel in there... or try sliding it back a bit.. thats what I did. With a bit of play you can cancel out the buzzing

I've had the same issues with the buzzing slider. If you're looking for a 2-second $0 fix, just slide the thing fully open and leave it that way. Worked for me.

Plus, for the handful of times I've ever even had anyone in the back of my coupe, they've almost put their hands right through the flimsy rubberized plastic slider when bracing themselves to get situated back there. I don't want to deal with that, so leaving it open = both problems solved.

Just last week, I annihilated 90% of the squeaks, rattles, and buzzing symphony going on my E93. The rear storage compartment was one of them. On acceleration, between 1500 and 2000 rpm's it would buzz as loud as my mom's old massager.

I removed the storage bin, detached the trim from the housing, and applied 3M Squeak Tape to two areas: the surface where the cover slides on and to the surface of the housing that meets the trim. Zero sounds from that now and you can't see the fix either. Let me know if you need a pic for location of the tape.
