waterpump issue

Got my water pump and thermo replaced about 4 months ago and this month it started acting up again. Car doesn't overheat or show any type of signs that the current water pump has issues. Wondering if anyone on here has had problems with their water pump after replacing it. Coolant level is on point with where it should be, no air in the lines. Anyone got any suggestions about what it could be? Car runs mint 95 percent of the time, then randomly the yellow water pump light comes on and reduces power.

Read the codes and go from there. I would say that it sounds like just a sensor but what exactly are the symptoms you are having? High fan speeds, limp mode. etc.

All it has been doing is going in limp mode randomly, last night the fan turned on blast but it was super hot here and i had used to ac all day on blast.

take it back to the shop or whoever did the job. Did they give you any sort of warranty?

I don't think there is a "yellow water pump" light. See the attachment. Is it the yellow symbol?

Are you looking at oil temperature or coolant temperature? I've read stories where the water pump, or fan stopped working, and the engine pretty much roasted itself while the oil temperature was still around 250°F... When this happens, go to your JB4 menu 7, and chose option 6 so you can hijack the oil temperature gauge to show water temperature instead. The water temperature should stay between 190°F and 210°F under normal driving conditions.
