E91 n46 auxiliary fan not working

Hi,

My 2006 e91 318i auxiliary fan has stopped working. Two days ago i got a warning light saying that the water temperature was too high, so i stopped the car and let it cool down before driving home.

Even when the warning light was on the fan was not spinning.

The connector closes to the fan has 3 wires, two thick and one thin.
- I measured 12,6 volts between the two thick wires
- The fan spins free when i push it
- The AC is working fine
- Diagnose says "short to negative"

Anyone know what can be wrong?
