Scangauge 2 clears codes...

Scangauge 2 is for sale for $109 for Advance Auto with promo code, it will clear your JBD codes and at the same time monitor all your vital gauges plus do a ton of other functions...cheaper than the JB scan tool plus it monitors...

New X-gauges for Scangauge (SGII)

For the few that have a Scangauge, I just received my SG II back with new x-gauges loaded onto it. I was a test mule for SGII.

Please see the attached for all of the gauges.

I should be able to try them out this week.

While the SGII is strictly a reader, the new addition of information is amazing. There is EGR activity, CAT temps, Status since last regen, and even urea consumption. Hopefully, all of the gauges will work.

I contacted Edge to see if their CTS or CTS2 supports any PIDs for our vehicles. I am still waiting to hear back from them. I have a CTS on my F250 and love it!

Follow-up assessment:

Most of the x-gauges work. The Scangauge engineers were great to work with and helped correct the gauges that were not working. I would imagine the Scangauge website will be updated with the new x-gauges.

Of great use is the EGR (to determine when a regen is taking place); SLR (Status since Last Regen--displays miles/kms when last regen started); all the cat temps one could ever need. Charge Air Temp is also available.

Right now, I have Temperature in SCR Cat Converter, EGR, MPH, and Coolant temp. I'll cycle between Load, SLR, and Charge Air Temp as required.

I'll list the ones I know:

Status Last Regeneration (km)
TXD: 06F1122C1022E7
RXF: E56C06100000
RXD: 3810
MTH: 010003E80000 -- If you want to read SLR in miles, use a MTH of 010006490000.
NAM: SLR

Exhaust Temperature Before Cat (Degrees Fahrenheit)
TXD: 06F1122C10085A
RXF: E56C06100000
RXD: 3008
MTH: 000E0001FFC6
NAM: TBC

Commanded EGR(%)
TXD: 07E0012C
RXF: 0441052C0000
RXD: 2808
MTH: 006400FF0000
NAM: EGR

Does the Charge Air Pressure work?

Thank you for the X-Gauges.

I believe Charge Air Pressure works. I don't have anything to compare to the reading. Do you think it's boost pressure?

Also, it looks like I jumped the gun on those codes. My scangauge has a different firmware than stock. See below for the message I received from the software engineer. In other words, the X-gauges won't work unless you have the new firmware.

"With regard to posting the codes online, I would avoid that for the time being. The firmware you currently have has extra unreleased coding designed to handle these BMW XGauges, so if anyone else tried these with their ScanGauge, they wouldn't work. You're welcome to let people know what gauges we have working, and if people are interested they can get in touch with me and I can update their units to this experimental firmware or they can purchase a ScanGauge directly from us with this firmware installed."

James DeLong is the software engineer and can be reached at xgauge@linear-logic.com

Thanks for this. I actually sent mine off to him a few days ago and hope it arrives shortly. The two things I wanted out of the ScanGauge were boost and EGT's, and now they should be there.

I received mine back from him. CAP is boost pressure, and it is absolute pressure as well. At least now I have a use for my ScanGauge again.

Great to hear. What's your thoughts on the new gauges?
Also, do you think CAP is reading correctly? I have a boost gauge in my Snow Performance system and will have to compare the two values.

It feels like it is reading correctly. I believe it's the pressure before the intake manifold. It's read a little awkward (as in includes atmospheric pressure, as well as not having a decimal point), but the highest I've read was roughly 25PSI. I would like to know as well if these readings are as accurate as your boost gauge.

I found the "TBC" gauge had a more accurate temperature reading for the DPF. It will also show when the regen is happening, opposed to relying on the EGR value.

Was hoping someone could give me some help here I've got a ScanGauge 2 that's around 5 years old running Version 4 software. Took it out of my other vehicle where it's been working flawlessly for the last 4-5 years and tried plugging it into my 2009 335d to erase a CEL caused by the JBD Tuning Box and the SC2 wont connect. Tried troubleshooting and tried every different mode and tried forcing it to connect but nothing would work.
