Dyno Question

Hey all,

I'm wondering if you all would recommend a Dyno on my current set up.

This is what I have:

JB4
Dual Cone Intakes
AR Design Downpipes (as of next week)

I'm planning on running Map 2 on the JB4. Would you all Dyno or would you just run Map 2 on the JB4 no problems as Map 2 specifications are downpipes + 94 gas.

Thanks!

Not sure what the question is.
If you want to dyno your car to see the power difference there is no harm in doing so.
If you are asking about map 2, yes you can run map 2 with intake and DP installed.

The question was do I NEED to dyno my car to professionally tune my e92 or will the JB4 stock Map 2 work just fine.

The reason I ask is because my friend told me I'll NEED to get my car re-tuned and can't just run the DPs with DCI and Map 2 as it'll cause issues and unnecessary engine wear.

Thanks,

Thanks,
You do need to dump ur car to tune it.
Each jb4 map is already optimized for different mods, so all you need to do is select the appropriate map and do a few pulls so the car gets adjusted.

This may be the case with other cars, I don't really know. However, the JB4 has maps optimized for certain modifications. I believe Map 1 is for just the JB4, Map 2 is for JB4, intake, and some people say downpipes, Map 3 is for Meth, Map 5 is auto tune and what most people run if they're planning on using E85 or are FBO, but this can be used with any mods as it automatically tunes based on octane and modifications. Map 7 is for race gas, etc. Map 2 or 5 are what you would be running with DCI and Downpipes, no additional tuning necessary as that is exactly what those maps are for.

So sounds like what everyone is saying is I don't need to professionally tune - just switch on Map 2 and I'll be good to go after a little adjustment period for the car to get used to the new tune.

Correct. You could have it professionally tuned to optimize it to your specific ECU if you want to net a little bit more power, but this is unnecessary especially for the kind of money a professional tune would cost.
You will be perfectly fine simply running Map 2 or 5.
