Singing the JBD blues
I bought my 335D a couple of months ago and almost immediately installed the JBD. So I didn't have much time at all driving the car without it. I started at 60% and have worked my way up to 100%. I've found that if I don't floor it when the engine is cold I never get a check engine light. Anyways I am taking the car in for service and I removed the JBD a couple of days ago and driving the car without it just sucks. It feels like such a dog with it off. To anyone on the fence about purchasing one for their car do not hesitate. Order one today. I can't wait till I get the car back so I can reinstall it. Definitely the most bang for the buck mod I have ever done.

+1. Now it would be even better if I could floor it without warming up the car first!

i was wondering before going back to the dealer, do you need to clear any errors dueto JBD via a tool (BMWhat, BT tool) or just restarting the car makes everything go back to normal?
even after clearing , is there a way a dealer can tell you been running JBD by looking at some sort of history log and seeing the uprated levels |

if you threw codes they would. If there arent any codes thrown, no way to know. The DDE doesnt log stuff like max fuel pressure, torque desired, etc. for future viewing. Without codes, there wouldnt be any way for the dealer to know you had a JBD |

in general it seems like a chance of codes being thrown is pretty high unless you go full flash (Renntech, Evolve and so on). But if I erase the codes via BT Tool or BMWhat app, is there a history log kept of codes erased for the dealer to later dig up? |

I dont know if or for how long the codes hang around in a log after they are cleared. I run my JBD at 100% all the time, drive quite a bit, and use sufficient pedal action pretty frequently but I only very rarely get JBD related codes. By that I mean maybe once a month or less.

OK the service is done. Time to reinstall my smile.....I mean my JBD. Side note... They gave me an X1 today as a loaner. Needless to say I will not be buying one any time soon.

I've done so many mods to my car but have never been interested in the JBD. No real reason.

Wanna try it out, Greek? I'll ship you mine if you want to try it out for a week then ship it back. I'm not using it ATM as I'm working on a few things. Also, FWIW, it feels like meth is about as good as JBD. Both is really fun, though.

Thanks FR but for me I'd like to get the LSD before a tune. I can get the LSD right now but after dumping so much $$$$ into mods, I'm gonna hold off for a bit.

This post brought out the devil in me.
After the last ~7000 miles at 75% I cracked it open last night and turned her up to 100%. All I can say is WOW!!!!. It pulls so hard and never stops, as if being shoved by the very hand of God! I love this car!!!! |

I'd love to confirm that I am doing it correctly. Any way I could convince you to meet me at your favorite lunch spot? :-) Starbucks gift card? Or if you have detailed pics? I am in Norcal and all over the Bay Area pretty often. |
