Question for those of you who drive almost completely city/suburban....
What is your MPG like?
It seems like everyones definition of city is different but in this case I'm talking about most drives being less then 5 miles multiple times a day (say 2-4 >5 mile drives per day. This is basally my commute 5 days a week with some highway (maybe) on the weekends. I am having trouble pushing 13.5-14.5avg mpg.... Does that sound right? Just wanted to make sure that theres nothing left I should check on the car. Ive done all 6 plugs, coils, air filter, charcoal filter delete, BMW fuel system cleaning at the dealer.

I'm in the exact same boat. Sounds normal based on my personal experience.

Correct me if I'm wrong but the gas mileage your getting is right. And it's due to when you accelerate your turbo is spinning up which means that ur using more gas it's harder for the engine to get up to speed than to maintain speed and with short distance driving you won't really ever be able to maintain speed ur basically always starting and stopped I'm getting the same mileage city I've got a 2011 335 vert but when I drive highway I'm averaging 33 mpg even at like 70mph

I think a 328 should get better mileage for city (suburban) driving. I may have avg about 20 mpg in my 328 in the suburbs. I get about 16 mpg with my 335, but hwy I get 24-25 mpg.

Sounds about right.. I imagine your car doesn't warm up though with those short trips. With only 4 mile trips to and from school my oil gauge doesn't move in the colder months

Yeah I mean home to school is 2 miles so I do that drive 2 times a day and a few more around town drives (maybe 1-2 per day) to pick up/drop off repairs that I work on.
I get almost exactly 200miles per tank

ALSO: I should clarify I usually can't go more then .3-.4 miles without hitting a red light or stop sign on this commute.

I drive in Tokyo and I can't tell you exact number, but I see my needle drop! Seriously, distances aren't that great, but just driving around makes fuel disappear really fast.

Pretty much only in D. I've tried using 6MT to get better mileage but to no avail unless my shift pattern is bad

Well ain't that shit, I do about 150-300 miles a day but I only get 19-21 mpg depending on my driving style that day and traffic. The mpg isn't great on these cars compared to standards today. But for your driving situation it is viable your getting that 14.

My normal mix of 75% city & 25% highway driving g4ets me around 21. I drove about 5.5 hours to Chicago today and the trip computer tells me 27.6 w/the cruise set at 80. I'll get a real number when I fill up again, and was quite pleasantly surprised at the freeway mpg.
