Stupid me!

Hey guys, today I was trying to adjust my hood latch so I unscrewed one of the latches and when I was going to put the screw back in, I got distracted by something behind me and dropped the screw down the engine bay. I haven't been able to find it and now I am in need of the screw that holds the black rubber piece in on the screw latch. I tried to search but I didn't come up with anything so I'm hoping someone can help me. Thank you!

Its probably on the bellypan undertray liner. The one with like 20 screws holding it on. Any chance you could lift it up and pull that off?

I was thinking the same thing. If you could see it you might be able to get it with a magnet. I had success doing that before. Good luck!

Yeah i also was able to get the CP clip from the under the belly tray this way. I was able to reach in from the driver side wheel well. Only will work if it's close to the edge though.

Yes! Check the tray.. I, no shit, found a 3/8's socket wrench, extensions, and a 10mm socket... I called the shop... no one reported it missing... so hey, free tools!

I did put one of those telescopic magnets down there to see if I would get lucky but it didn't work. Unfortunately I had to go around the block soon after I dropped the screw. Is it possible for it to roll out of the belly pan? I'm actually about to walk around the block to see if I can find it..

yeah, if it rolled towards the back end i believe there's nothing holding it in back there if it reaches that end.

I have one of these- saved my ass twice. One of those times was like a game of Operation...had to be REALLY careful not to touch the edges of the area I was trying to retrieve it from, so as not to knock it down further into the depths....
