Has anyone noticed this before?

Why is the cup holder on the passenger side deeper than the cup holder on the driver's side?

I had Starbucks the other day and that's when I noticed it.

I'm pretty sure it's to not have the lids of the cups you have right next to each other.

You know that lids people put on togo cups of soda? It makes it so it doesn't push the drinks on each other and not pop the lid off easily.

Heck that sounds like a good reason for it. You'd think they'd mention little bits of engineering like that.

It's probably like that to handle cups that are taller than normal.

No grief with the question. However, my better half has already taken over the cup holder(s) for her stuff forces the cover to the glove compartment
