Passengers' comments...
Had my 6 yr old granddaughter Layla in the back the other day. I was at a side road junction waiting to join a stream of main road traffic. Spotted a gap and floored it...
"...woooah - this car is so over-petrolled..." I actually went on to correct her on the diesel / petrol thing but I'm not entirely sure she took it all in. Out of the mouths of babes eh

My son said yesterday "how come that little car beat us off the lights, I thought you said the 335d was fast". I tried to explain that no one was racing, but he glazed over with a kind of "you just crushed my dreams look" |

(Which is bizarre seeing as she tends to drive faster than I do)

My 7 year old daughter is always egging me on to ' Sports mode it' when she wants us to take someone on the lights, I think I might have instilled some bad habits there!

My 3 year old is always encouraging me on, 'faster daddy, go faster!' is all I seem to get. Being a great dad, how can I disappoint
Trouble is, my 2 year old experienced the full throttle acceleration from the Severn Bridge tolls. The cackling laughter and 'vroom' noises from him after that suggested he may have enjoyed it. Kids hey, I'd be a much slower driver if I didn't have them egging me on

These comments take me back a bit.
My son at 2-years old used to get very agitated when sitting behind slower moving cars. He'd shout out "do it daddy, do it". Wonder where he got the idea we passed slow moving traffic. When I had the 540i had my grandson (again about 2-years old) in the back and he's patting the door card, "special car granddad, special car". Grandsons are now 10 and 7, they debate the best engines. My Twin Scroll turbo is not as good as Daddy's bi-turbo BMW. They had me give the 535i a blast, to prove my comment that it accelerated faster than Daddy's X3 3.0sd. Love them, don't you. HighlandPete |

Travelling back to Scotland one time, we were going slightly fast.
My daughter of about 5, goes 'oh look daddy, police' and was waving at them. I said to her 'no waving at the police car when daddy's speeding please'. As she grew up with various cars being driven all out on very fun Scottish roads, she has a very dim view of various lads trying to drive fast etc, usually comments like 'when you going to accelerate ' etc. In fact I guess linked to other thread about modern cars, these days she just zonks out in the car, as so smooth and quiet. |

Touche.
My 4 year old (sorry, he has just corrected me, my 4 year nine month old who's almost 5) has even worked out that sticking into sports and shoving the gear stick to the left "let's him feel the gear changes properly!" Shame he's not tall enough to reach the pedels, it's very difficult trying to explain to him no matter how discreetly he does it daddy can feel it straight away. Cant wait until he is tall enough to drive. I've always said as soon as he can reach the pedels and see over the wheel I'd let him drive at the local airfield. |
