Advise needed- DHP?
hey guys.. I probably have 1 day left to make changes to the 435i M-sport that I have on order.. I have searched all the threads and most say the DHP package is worth the cost, but most are older threads.. Is this still the consensus? I called my dealer and had it added, but if it's going to compromise performance in any way, then I definitely don't want it. So, what's the T?

I test drove all. Standard, sport line, m sport and DHP.
Hands down DHP wins for me. It was a must option for me. I'm so glad I got it. In comfort I can have the same handling as an msport but without the harshness and then if I want to turn it up a notch I can. |

I definitely considered DHP a must for me as well. When I was researching for my car, I had read that the stock suspension was softer than before as was the steering. DHP adds adaptive shocks as well as variable steering. Definitely worth it IMO.

Yes, DHP is definitely worth it - really enjoying being able to switch modes - plus, if you start driving aggressively in comfort mode, the DHP suspension will "adapt".

I have DHP on a F30, F31, and F22... it's the way to go.
Test drove models without and the car felt good but DHP takes it to the next level for comfort and adjustability. If your a car guy - get it.

DHP is the way to go....until you need to replace them from wear and tear. Then you may start cursing yourself when you find out that replacing them is the same or more expensive as a set of good coilovers.

Would NOT have bought the car without DHP.
Adjustable suspension alone is worth it. May cost more to replace down the road after the warranty expires, but I don't plan to keep the car after that date. |

On my RWD 335i MSport DHP is by far the best option I selected. I'll never order another BMW without this option. Our previous and other current BMWs don't have it and now I know what I had been missing!

BMW without DHP is for posers. A BMW with DHP is the real deal. It is a must have. At 120 mph the car will wallow in comfort mode. You can definitely feel the difference in Sprot mode. The wallowing all but disappears in the triple digits.

A thousand times yes.
I've driving both. Non DHP and the car started shaking and becoming hard to control around 110mph. With DHP still excellent control at 145, and I haven't had the opportunity to test higher than that. |

If you want something really extra, order the M Performance Suspension (MPS) - https://www.getbmwparts.com/partloca...75&startrow=26. Maybe different shocks, definitely different (shorter) springs, and stiffer sway bars, and a drop of about half an inch from the M Sport Suspension, or almost an inch lower than stock. The slammed look! Most dealers will add a couple of coffee cans on the exhaust as a no cost option. You can order the MPS after the car is produced, but before it hits the port/VPC. The VPC is where all the M Performance parts are added. Check with your CA for cost - I think there's been a price increase on some of the M Perfomance parts. Generally it's cheaper to get M Performance parts installed at the VPC (much cheaper labor costs and they know what they're doing) as opposed to the dealer.

otherwise, they'd be charging $1000 for just VSS and they'd have to charge less. as an analogy, with drivers asst plus you do NOT get blind spot assist on M Sport line cars and they lower the price of that package by $600, I believe.

I stand corrected - I guess. So if you have M Sport option (ZMM) that includes M Sport suspension (704), what is being changed when you go from comfort to sport, etc.?
