Update and review of F10 side markers purchased on eBay- buyer beware!

So after only one month of having them on the car, and going through two car washes, I can tell you they are not worth a shit.

Ironically, they're still lighting up, even though they were filled with condensation.

Needless to say, they're going straight into the garbage- biggest waste of $50 I ever spent.

Aaaand I can't use these either. How the hell did you guys get these installed?

There's a flat metal contact piece, instead of a piece with two pins to go into the OEM connector- that's bananas.

Can any of you who installed these Depo Amber side markers lend your expertise as to how I'm supposed to connect them to the car?

Oh well back to OEM it is!

I'm pretty certain I bought the right ones, unless the description was wrong from the seller. I'm really kicking myself for not checking these out sooner on my car.

Hey Dark Knight,
I took my factory side markers and shipped them to Oneighty. They charged me 100 for the pair to shoot them with clear coat with black paint in it to smoke them. They look mint and are 100% Oem so no condensation issues, error codes or fitment concerns. It cost more than EBay ones but you have the piece of mind they are Oem. My neighbor bought his 335i E93 last year and he installed tinted ones from EBay. They fit shitty as well. Springs had to be pried out to try and snug up to the body and even so they move around. Worst part is they blink 6-8 times upon start up which makes me crazy. He doesn't mind but it just screams aftermarket to me. I would never use them. I can send you pics of mine if you want to see them let me know. In my mind the $100 bucks is worth it for a once and done installation.

Sounds good bro! I'm actually looking for an LED style side marker though, that's the only catch. I make check them out ultimately, but for now I'd like to see if I can get these but into the car somehow.

I honestly believe they gave me the wrong side markers at this point, even though they told me on the eBay seller page it was for 2010 to 2012 E92.

I wait and see what others who have used the side markers have to say.

You know what they say:

Buy the best, and cry only once

Wow. That's why I was a bit hesitant about buying aftermarket sidemarkers, I ended up just buying a roll of tint and tinted my OEM ones and put in LED bulbs. I'm pretty satisfied with how it turned out for less than $10. As for your DEPO sidemarkers, that connection at the end definitely looks odd.

On the back side of your OEM is the bulb holder that you need to use.
It comes off the OEM ones and you put the metal contact where the OEM bulb went in
You can see it around 20 seconds into this video

See my post above.
He forgot to take the plug holder off his oems.
These are by far the best looking option. Dark knight is just being a tad bit hasty with his conclusions likely due to having such a bad experience with the previous set

I got these F10 style LED side markers from Bimmian:

https://www.bimmian.com/F10-Style-LE...r-E91-3-Series

Fairly bright, survived multiple car washes and made it past this brutal Canadian winter. Overall happy with them.

Since I have a black car with the sports package, I opted to go with smoked lens with amber illumination and gloss black surrounds. Fits right in.

the OP is having issues with the same ones you got from bimmian, did you use the 3m tape for sticking the surrounds to the body?

Thanks.

Wow you didt read the thread.
He got the f10 ones and they filed up with water.
He got the depo ones and couldn't figure out how to connect them which is why I showed him how to remove the bulb holder from the OEM

Wow, thank you so much Rob and Truk! I am going to revisit this tomorrow- love you guys!

Yes, admittedly I'm a bit skeptical. The smoked DEPO ones look to be head and shoulders above the F10 ones I got.

Will keep you all posted- stoked to revisit this tomorrow!!!!

The depo were awesome on my e93.
Eventually got m3 style fenders do I got rid if them.
Good luck.
You will love them.
Always thought the f10 looked out of place.
I feel bad since you posted about what you should get and I suggested the depo ones.
Confident once you get them installed you will be a believer

I installed the depo ones earlier this week and they sit flush with the fenders and don't even move an inch. Look great on a SMB. Yes, you do have I twist the white connector out to get the bulb out on the OEM ones. The white clip needs to be held pulled out on the white connector and then twist it with the other hand and then pop comes out the connector with the bulb. Remove the bulb and insert that flat connector in its place an clip back the white connector and you are all set. I am going to get the car washed tomorrow so will keep you posted on the water effect on them.

I have the depo ones on my car and they have been installed for well over a year. I park outside 90% of the time and drive though car wash regularly and have had no issues with condensation, flickering, or fit.

Thanks to everyone in this thread!

I'm going to attempt this again now- I just didn't have a keen enough eye the first time around to realize to take the OEM bulb out.

I'll keep everybody posted
