M3/M4 Akrapovic exhaust

Did anyone notice that Akrapovič's website already lists the M3 and M4 exhaust category? I wonder when the products will be available

Seems to usually take about a year after model release for most aftermarket manufacturers, but it they produced the OEM exhaust they would have a jump on things.

That makes two of us. That would be an $8k waste of money for me.

The MotoGP cars have a BMW Performance exhaust installed, and I suspect it is a Akrapovic exhaust, with M logos, and a retail price north of $9,000.00, I'm sure they will be discounted by dealers and perhaps less expensive when available from Akarpovic, minus the M logos, but still expensive, Fran

Is this price justified? I mean is Akra THAT much better then the brands that become popular when BMW launched the N54?!

The pricey version will most likely be the Evo unit in Titanium, they often offer a Stainless version, which will be heavier, but less expensive, but still pricey. Fran

Yeah, I could think of better ways to allocate $8k toward an F8X M3 for my tastes. Wheels, a nice suspension/drop and a front lip. A better way to spend $8k IMHO.

I think they offered stainless version on F30s, but did they ever offer SS exhaust on M cars?

Either way, I wouldn't pay more than 2-3k for exhaust.

I have heard it on M6 and wasnt that impressed at all. Its expensive bc its backed by BMW...They want you to use BMW M Performance products or they claim could be warranty issues. For the M6 at least the RPI GTM exhuast makes 30hp documented and sounds a lot better than Akro and price is like 3400....And thats for M6, bet M3/M4 will be cheaper

There isn't a sound in the world I'd pay $8-9k for.

yes.. ill definitely look into rpi. after looking at the design of stock exhaust, i think you'll at lease need midpipe + cat back to get some decent notes..
off topic: anyone know when first true journalist reviews come out?

I thought with turbo cars the more free flowing the exhaust the more power? With N/A there is back pressure and other aspects to consider.

1) Whatever the fox actually says
2) Keeley Hazel jumping up and down topless in an otherwise quiet room
3) Repeat above, with Brooklyn Decker
4) The legend of zelda "acquired a new item sound" everytime I get something cool (this one would have to be repeat for life to warrant the cost).

Our lists do not match!

But for you, I could take the number 3. with the added bonus of you standing in the hall while listening that, without visual. I'm cruel like that, sorry.

For some reason, the BMW crowd has gone Akra crazy the past few years. I don't get it, personally. I find the model on the 1M to sound like absolute crap, while other models do sound good.

But that's it: They sound GOOD. They are GOOD quality. etc.

Let me put this another way: Lower volume italian Tubi exhaust systems cost less and are usually incredibly high quality and sound absolutely glorious in every case I've seen them (i had a tubi rumore exhaust on my s62).

So why so obsessed with Akra?
