Nothing illegal.

I have a dvd which was converted FROM VHS (*EDIT). I want a back up of this. I stuck it in the laptop and it just played?

i turn it off and it says: Rip, burn and sync!!

what do i do to get it ready for burning onto new dvd??

it wont erase or damage it on the original disc will it?

thanks carlos

Check out DVDshrink - just google for it, you'll find a download.

Instructions here:

http://www.dvdshrink.org/

Requires bit of reading. But great for backing up or making an ISO.

D.

How did you manage to convert a DVD to a DVD ..... or ... why did you bother ?
