Starting to see more in the wild

After not seeing any other GT's in the wild since owning mine, over the Easter break I saw 4.
A lovely one in EB driving round Longleat Safari Park (No neither of us went through the monkey enclosure), a Mineral grey in central London, another having a hand car wash in East London, a white one on the A27 Brighton and I think a midnight blue one in Portsmouth.

If these were you - Hello!!

Andy

Same here. Saw a couple in NJ and just saw one yesterday on the upper west side in NYC.

Saw my first one while driving around the Metroplex yesterday -- just a quick glimpse of an alpine white 335i GT. Not sure what line.

A bit bummed that I'm no longer completely unique and special.

Hi All,
Well I keep looking but I haven't seen one in the north of Scotland yet !
Andy, the midnight blue one you saw in Portsmouth definitely wasn't me, that's over 700 miles from here

So . . . yep I'm still completely unique and special !

Haven't seen any other ever apart from the showroom, not in my area here in the UK and not during a recent trip across France, Belgium, Netherlands, Germany.
Quite like to be a bit unique.

I live in a small town in SE Ohio, and three weeks ago I actually saw a white 328GT Luxury pull into a retirement community down the street from my home. She was from Columbus (I could tell from the license plate frame). My guess is, she was visiting someone at the retirement home since she parked in the visitor's parking lot (and I haven't seen it since).

I'll admit I almost panicked and called my CA to cancel the order. I can't have something everyone else is driving, now can I?

A little off topic, but I spoke with my CA Thursday and it looks like my car will be delivered to the dealer on Saturday, May 10th. Which means I should be picking it up the week of the 12th.

Getting kind of worried about the lack of 3GT's I am seeing. Living in the central belt in Scotland, I thought I would see more. Even on a recent 300 mile round trip to Inverness I did not see another one. Lack of demand equals horrid depreciation I am thinking. Still, drives beautifully though.

Don't think of it that way Gordo, think of exclusive, unique and special. Much more fun that way.

Living up on the Moray Firth Coast I did the opposite trip to you last weekend. 379 mile round trip from home, down to Edinburgh, back up to Aberdeen and home again. I never saw another 3 GT.

I love the exclusivity.

Nice red GT, Gordocam!

I suppose here in Austria there are still few GTs, but I've seen increasingly more on the streets. Mostly black, some white. Yesterday I saw a dark blue one. Haven't seen any red until now.

The day I picked up my white one, there was another white being delivered at the same time.

I have seen precisely 5 total, one being our 335, 3 at dealers all of them 328's. Only seen one other f34 actually driving on the road and it was a mineral white m sport 328

Definitely not seeing them coming and going like the e90 f20 and f30 that's for sure.

I still haven't seen another one in the KC area outside of the dealership. In Munich I saw more F34s than F31s, and there were a few in Fussen as well.

Not a single one (other than mine) out by me. Love driving a car this rare. Was at a BBQ over the weekend and some guy saw it and was like "what kind of bmw is this?" they loved it.

I live in Michigan and have only seen one. I picked up my Estoril Blue 328 Saturday. We made our first trip today to Cbus and it was a great drive.

Love having the exclusivity. I've de-baged the back cause it looks cleaner and nicer but it also leaves a mystery what car I own. Many can't believe it's a 3 series cause this car is huge, spacious, sporty and fun to drive.

Very interesting reviewing your comments from Europe and America. I am a bit concerned about what I perceive to be a sales "flop" of the GT. First, no dealer seems to stock a 335, only 328 GT models- and few of those- (although that is largely true for the entire 3er range.) Second, in the year it has been out, I have seen perhaps only 3. Third, in the Washington DC and NYC Auto Shows, the GT was not on display. I even asked the guy who is in charge of the 3 series in NA about this, and he said everything is fine with the GT, but they only have so many slots to display all the BMWs. If it was a sales winner they would allocate a slot to the GT! What do you think about all this?

My personal theory is that BMW USA has been so traumatized by the 5GT that they are trying to ignore the existence of its little brother. Just look at their accessories web site. They, and the dealers, may also be worried that the 3GT will cannibalize 5 series sales.

I think a large portion of general consumers have no idea the 3GT even exists...BMW doesn't advertise it. Layer on the fact that the lot cars dealers tend to order are base model (no line) with 17in rims to keep prices down, and you've got a recipe where people initially see the car and find it ugly like the 5GT.

BMW has further neutered 2015 and on 3GT sales because of how they positioned the 4 series gran coupe...It can be had cheaper because 3GT still isn't available as RWD. The 4 gran coupe is a better looking and more dynamic version offering similar utility (a hatch). Of course it has less space, but the point is it's not going to help perception of the 3GT.

Totally agree with both comments and I will be shocked to see the 3GT produced past 2015.
