One Series Coupe

Well we went to the One Series Coupe Launch today at our local dealer. It looks good in the metal. They only had one car, a TiAg 123d M Sport, on show, the other hadn't turned up. The car had a few options including Boston Leather Uphosltery. The seats felt really good with soft leather bolsters and harder wearing centre panels. I thought they felt better than our 335s seats and were on a par with the M3s. I was pretty impressed by the whole package and we've a test drive booked for next Saturday at 15.00, should be good fun.

Regards

Chris

Look forward to reading your thoughts after the drive Chris. My other halfs 118d will be going in the new year and if I don`t convince her to have an X3, this will prob. be its replacement.

Looking forward to the review Chris. Loving the 1er coupe now, and hated it when it came out. The 1 series are proper little go karts (cue Carlos) and enormous fun - enjoy.

The 1 coupe has also grown on me a bit since I first saw it, and I reckon it could be a contender to replace my 325i coupe - although not sure if I would go for a diesel variant or the 135i... unless of course the tii concept turns out to be an M1...

Look forward to hearing your thoughts Chris.

Cracking feature in this mths BMW car mag about the 'Ones'.
The coupe is growing on me, and the 135 sounds awesome, seriously considering chopping in the significant other's Mini for one.
The missus probably would not see the benefit of the 3 litre, double blown jobbie, but I would, guaranteed!

I'll have a look at it whist I'm in the dealers on Monday morning. The 135i will be a fun car for sure and I will take one for a spin when it's out next Feb/March.

No mate the 135i is Jan build as I looked at ordering one about 3 weeks ago. The first ones will be delivered start of Feb. (So I guess most customers will wait for March 1st) with demo's going on in Feb.

If you serious about buying the 135i ask the dealer to get you a go in one of the press fleet cars which are knocking around at the moment.

I must admit I like the dynamics of the one series. The 120d we have has great steering feedback (pre facelift non electric power assistance), the wheelbase is shorter than the three and the power to weight ratio is better than a 320d as well. It's a very chuckable car and although the RFTs can be a bit skippy at times (I run them at lower than recommended pressure which improves matters a lot) you soon get used to them. But at other times it just as civilised and nice to drive as any other BM. On top of that it has a hatchback and folding rear seats which is a bonus, ours even has a towbar for my motorbike trailer.

Regards

Chris

No Hotcoupe I am currently looking at buying a second car to share with my dad at the moment. The 135i was on the list and hence enquired with the dealer a few weeks ago.

Not actually sure how anyone can prove a car looks a minger or not... as the saying goes 'beauty lies in the eye of the beholder'

Does anyone else think that the 1er coupe's ass looks like it's been slammed by a door? Too short compared to the rest of the car??
