Focal 100 KP for e90

I have an e90 with the HiFi audio (not logic 7). I want to upgrade the speakers as the first step. Searching around the forums, some people have suggested the Focal 100kp. I went to the local store here and they said they can order the 100kp but they are not sure if they will fit in the door as apparently the focals are wide at the base, and since they dont' have them in stock, they cannot guarantee if they will fit. if i order and they don't fit, I am stuck with the speakers. Has anyone in the forums actually installed them. I am looking to upgrade the rear deck and the front speakers. since i dont' have logic 7 i don't have rear door speakers. I was going to runt them with stock amps, and later on upgrade the amps. the other option is to just upgrade the front and get an amp and leave the rear speakers stock...

How do you like your setup? Do you use the Clean Sweep or do you just use the factory amp? I'm going for a similar setup with a summing device and JL Audio Clean Sweep

Hi Kev,

the setup is great and it comes very close to the one I have in the X5 .
Clean Sweep didn't work for this install as it couldn't cover all of the channels (replaced
all speakers including the under seat subs and added an addtl subwoofer in the
trunk) . We use the Audicontrol LC8 for summing the channels and the
built-in EQs in the Zapco amp(s) for sound adjustment.
The factory Logic7 system/EQ is left untouched and the settings are all factory .
As you're in Boston I'd be more than happy to meet up and you can listen to it yourself.

Yes it is like day and night . Much better stage and vocals , mids and lows
are much better as well.
All in all I am very happy and achieved the goal of having a system I can easily
move to a new car as well as retain OEM look and capabilities (ie still go
skiing and put the skies through the armrest) .

Sure, that'd be great. I'm not a big fan of thumping bass, so I'm not going to do the trunk sub.

The bass is certainly not "thumping" . I didn't want to have a boom mobile you
can hear blocks down the road. It rather complements the front seat subs .
I plan to come to Boston later in the week/next weekend (might stop
at the NE autoshow at the convention center) . If you want to catch up
let me know.

If I were to just replace the stock hifi (not logic7) speakers with focals what would I do with the crossovers that come with the focals?

where are the factory crossovers for the factory hifi amp?

are they built into the amps?

if so will i need the crossovers for anything?
