Need help with LUG size.

Hi guys i need help with lug nut size. Im buying my friends XXR rims with tires for $600 (think its cheap for the price). I believe the oem is 17mm so obviously won't fit....I need a longer ones. SO here is my question, what size you guys think i need to get? like i see there are 24mm, 32mm, etc....Can anyone help me with this please?????

P.S. Im not getting a spacer with it.

Most wheels will likely use the stock bolt length, unless you are using a spacer. Until you see the wheel and compare the thickness to the OEM wheel, you won't know. If the bolts are too long, they can stick through and tighten up and lock the wheel rotation...too short, and the wheel falls off when it strips. You need to see how much sticks out when you place a bolt in there compared to the stock wheel.

17 mm is NOT the length of the bolt, but rather the head size. Think about it, an inch is 25.4 mm, so 17 mm is around 3/4 of an inch. Not a very long lug bolt. You need to get bolts matched to the wheels you purchase. The taper at the head will dictate how it seats on the wheel and that governs how much the bolt extends. Get this correct or your wheel will not be properly secured. Torque to 88 ft-lbs.
