Cracked a rim, couple of questions.

I love potholes.

Now that one of my wheels has a lovely crack in it, I was hoping I could get a little help.

First, I was hoping you guys could help me identify what type of rims I have in the first place. Here's a picture:

The car is a 2006 330xi. Based on the sticky thread, I'd have to guess that they're 159's. 340's look pretty similar though... I just wanted to make sure, so I don't end up feeling stupid when one of my wheels ends up not like the others.

My plan right now is to buy a single replacement rim. I was thinking a set of 4 nicer rims would be nice, but then I'd find myself with the conundrum of having to find someone who'd buy a set of 3 + 1 cracked rims.

I've been trawling through ebay/craigslist for a replacement. I'd love any recommendations for other places to look. Online or local (central jersey).

Thanks!

Pretty sure they are 159's also. Ebay is probably your best bet. Just make sure that they have a warrantee to be straight and true.

I've also heard about some shady "remanufactured" rims. So, I'd ask about a long term warrantee.

How bad is the crack? If not too bad, just get it fixed.

Yes, you have the BMW Style 159 wheels: http://www.bmwstylewheels.com/bmw/159

I am sure you can get a buyer for them. Just might take a little extra time. Let me know if you need any help. If you decide to go the aftermarket route I can give you some good affordable choices as well
