Ordering a 335i GT
The lease on my 2012 X5M is up the end of May and w/ bmw's pull ahead program I'm looking at switching things up so rather than moving into another X5/X6 I am giving the 335i GT a try after the dealer let me take one home over the weekend. Never would have imagined that much room for people & stuff on a 3 series!
Anyhow going w/ a loaded up M Sport w/ msrp of $62,300 but negotiated it down to $58K total (including dest fees, etc...) and a .00150 MF & 64% RV on a 3 year & 10K lease no money down except 7 MSDs to bring the MF down so payments will be about $640 w/ taxes. Big drop from the $1500 of the loaded up X5M. So now I'm debating colors. My X5M is the Monte Carlo blue so looking at making a change and haven't had a mineral gray or alpine white car so torn between those 2 options for the outside and also debating the venetian beige (for a change & to lighten things up inside the car) or the black & coral red. Concerns w/ the mineral gray is does that color get boring/dull? Seen some incredible pictures of mineral grays but 1 sitting outside at the dealer didn't look as sharp as what I've seen online. It wasn't very clean so not sure if that's the problem but wondering... The white I'm guessing is impossible to keep looking clean like black? As for interiors really digging the venetian beige w/ dark wood but wonder how well that combo looks w/ mineral gray if I go that route? Heading to dealer Friday to finalize paperwork & place order so would love opinions/pictures? Thanks! |

I ordered virtually the same car. Ship is scheduled to hit the port on Friday so with any luck I'll be driving it in 10 days. I went with Mineral Gray, I've had black, white, and silver cars. Current one being silver and they look cleaner longer. The salesman fully supported my decision after I wavered and was thinking about switching to black or silver, he said the mineral gray is so much easier to keep clean. I like you have see lots of good pics of it online and have liked it. I think the key is going to be tinted windows and some black wheels. I post some pics when I get mine finally. Ordered it on Dec 19.

How did you get your hands on a demo 335i GT? None of the dealers around here have seen any come through that weren't custom orders.
I have to say that I'm finding the idea of Mineral Gray with red leather to be very, very intriguing. |

I have an Mineral Grey 328i GT and love it. With Coral Red interior, M-Sport package, nag, etc.
http://www.f30post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=911857 Hasn't gotten boring yet! On top of that, I just added CF mirror covers, and some M-Performance CF interior trim… IMO, the carbon goes REALLY well with Mineral Grey. I had considered other colors, but I'm very happy I went with MG. I'd do it again. |

We went jet/coral. Mineral gray looked a little too washed out for her. Wish they offered more non-metallic colors as that gray without the flake would look pretty awesome.

I think the fact that I'm coming from a Monte Carlo Blue X5M makes the switch to any other more "muted" color harder! Part of me wonders if I should go w/ the EBII.
I'll just have to go check out some MG, AW & compare to my X5M. |

Dealer I work with who has treated me great over the years has 2 GT's in the lot. One sport line and one m sport line and given my relationship they let me take one over the weekend to see how we liked it in a more realistic environment than test drive around town.

Beautiful looking car/pictures. I saw them before and they are an example of MG looking great. Are the pictures retouched in any way?

Yes, mildly retouched, but the color isn't highly affected. I just dulled down the background a bit, and sharpened the image. But the car was brand new then and super clean.
I still love it every time I look at it after a good wash! |

netsurfr, just for comparison, here's a pic without anything done to the background.
Pretty much "as shot" or "straight out of camera". |

Wow. Looks great. Hope my MG looks as good. Can't wait. Nice pictures as well. Now you have to take & post some of the interior & put those photography skills to use!

MG looks GREAT!
Here are a couple of pictures I shot today. These are not retouched in any way, and the last car wash was a week ago...
The interior is Black Dakota. It's what the dealer had and I didn't want to wait.

Looks great, I ordered the same color combo at the end of Dec, it just arrived in the U.S. on Friday, hopefully have it in a week or so. Did you completely de-badge and swap out the BMW logos?

Yes, I completely debadged the car...primarily because the "GT" looked cartoonish. Also, I have not seen ANY OTHER 335 GT's in my area, tons of 328i sedans, so by debadging, hardly anyone knows what the heck I'm driving.
Also, I replaced all the emblems with black and grey carbon fiber emblems. I think they look much better on the mineral grey car. |

Can't wait to get mine. Personally, I ordered a glacier silver metallic m-sport 335i GT. I guess the silver m-sport one(s) in most of the reviews and promo photos really left a lasting impression on me. I liked it so much, I was unable to give serious consideration to other colors! |
