Angry Everytime I wash my car!!!!!

IT RAINS!!!!!!! Someone relate to me so I can calm the F down!

Sunday is my car washing day. There's just not enough time any other day of the week. I wash her proper too! Takes 2-4 hours depending on my mood. And for some damn reason it's rained the past 3 Mondays. My only comfort here is that my car is white and still looks decent afterwards. Unlike my previous black car which became dirty pulling it back into the garage!

It hasn't been raining here but there is snow melting everywhere. By the time you get home from the car wash, there's salt and crap sprayed all over your car.

Try living in the NW.

Lately I've been taking it out for fun, then I come home to wash it, then park it in the garage.

Anyone got any recommendations for a good carwash or spray detailer than repels water well?

80% of making a car look good is the prep before you apply the wax / sealant. That said, if your car is white, have a look at the Werkstatt range, specifically the Jett acrylic sealant. Works very well over light colour cars, easy to use and lasts well. Polished Bliss do it.

We're in the midst of a serious drought. I should wash my car more often, maybe it'll actually rain.

Oh, I don't have a problem making it look good. Keeping that way is another story. I'll use a quality soap, hand dry, clay bar (if needed), then wax. However, I only wax it properly 3-4 times a year. In between each time I'll use a spray wax and detailer.

I've heard/read about sealent. What is it's specific purpose? It's applied after a wax correct? How often does it need it?

Jett acrylic is an alternative to wax, tends to be more durable. I use it every month or so, the more layers you build up, the better it looks. If you are already doing what you've said, sounds like you already have a decent care routine anyway. Werkstatt also do a top up / quick detailer called Glos which is designed to be used in between, again, good stuff and not too expensive either.

Funny story: The wife was leaving the garage the other day as my clean car sat there minding its own business; when she paused before shutting the door. She paused because a bird flew into the garage, landed on my hood, defecated and then flew out. She knows how I am about my car, so she got out came in the house (laughing hysterically mind you) to tell me what happened. I was relaxing watching Hit Man for the 100th time and didn't believe her at first. It was true though.

Sunday is usually my wash day too, and I swear that bird has been sitting on my neighbor’s house for the past few months just waiting for the right opportunity to hit me IN THE GARAGE… I have now seen it all.

But, to you're original point, it usually rains for me too, so I sympathize.

when I lived in VA.. I had a white lexus.. I would soap it up in the rain also when it was dirty I would drive faster during a rainstorm to get the rain to "wash it. I wish I was young and maybe not as dumb again..

Ahh Murphy's law. Didn't happen to me quite so quickly, but 2 days later it rained

I often wash my car at night. I have my car coated with Gtechniq Exo v2 which helps me keep washing and drying times down. I can usually finish washing the whole car properly around an hour (Exterior only). I recommend both Gtechniq Exo v2 and Cquartz coatings for the best protection and easy cleaning. Why are these two the best? They are slick and durability is 2 years. They are pricey at around $50 for 1 application, but the way I see it is that I don't have to spend time waxing my car for 2 years.

If you are looking for something to simply spray on, try out Hydr02. Another highly hydrophobic spray wax is Sonax high speed wax.

here let me one up you....in the summers I always wash my car twice a week. The very next day, my car is either saturated in sap or blasted with dust. I park on a gravel road at work and there is no other parking option. So I hear yah bother..I know exactly what your talking about.

that is why sometimes i love cold cold cold winter days cause no snow kicks up on to your car and you car will stay clean for days! i havent washed my car in like 10 days and its spotless. love it!

It either rains, bird poop, or someone washes their windshield in front of me spraying dirty water all over my car. Never fails...
