Another 335d Spec thread...

Hi All,

Very close to placing an order with TRL for a 335d, wondered what people's opinions were on the following spec?

335d M Sport (model & side badge delete)
Mineral Grey - black leather, brushed aluminium trim, black trim finisher
M Sport Plus pack
Visibility pack
Advanced Parking pack
Professional Nav
Heated front seats
Heated steering wheel
Adaptive cruise control
Adaptive M Sport suspension
Comfort access

Also 95% sure on adding HUD and folding head restraints, but less sure on the folding mirrors, VSS and surround view.

That is a great spec, the only thing I would definitely add is HUD but then I like my gadgets! I also added folding mirrors to mine.

The other thing to consider is split folding rear seats - if you might ever need them

Are you going for saloon or tourer?

Very nice, I'd remove the advance parking package and replace with rear camera. I had it in my last car, was a waste of time unless you really can't park lol
The rest of your spec is spot on, don't forget extended storage if you want those extra cubby holes

I'm pretty much same position as you. I think prof media, sport plus, vis pack and heated front seats are essentials on this sort of car and would hit residuals if you didn't get and other people have said on other threads that wont dramatically change the PCP. I too cannot decide on HUD - its priced just a bit too high for me as 90% of my driving is on country B roads - whilst it would make the car more saleable its unlikely you'll get much back at selling time so comes down to 'is it worth £900?', same with heated steering wheel.

Folding mirrors are the only think I wish I'd spec'd, though I have on street parking and park it in a busy office car park every day...No problems so far, or on previous cars, but just something I worry about!

Once you've had a heated steering wheel, you'll hate any other car without one.

My Rangie had one, it's being a long 3 years without one!

I'd go for the comfort pack just for the storage and the folding seats.

Ditto, my FF Range had one also - it has also been three years since I sold it - and now you are making me wish I had spec'd the heated steering wheel......

The steering wheel does seem rather cold on these BMW's, never noticed that on my other cars.
One thing I noticed on the 4 series that has folding mirrors is the glass in them dips when you use reverse so you can see the pavement, I asked the salesman why my car doesn’t do this and he says only folding mirrors dip in reverse, can anyone confirm this?
If I'd know I would have paid the extra

That is correct auto dip (when reverse selected) only with folding mirrors

Good spec! The HUD is really great and if you're getting Adaptive cruise then would recommend that you get the HUD too, if you can afford it- the two work brilliantly together. The VSS is good, mainly for parking agility.. and not too expensive at £250. I don't have surround view, so can't help on that, but the rear camera is handy on our tourer.

You don't say whether you're getting a saloon or tourer... if it's the tourer then with your black interior and dark windows I would strongly suggest the Panoramic sunroof, as it's very dark and gloomy in the back otherwise. The saloon gets more light in back window, so slightly less of an issue.

I love the folding mirrors, and it works off the key remote too... depends on where you park I suppose.

Some say the sliding armrest is a helpful feature. Never bothered ordering it myself, but for a couple or so of quid a month, suppose its a no brainer if you think you need it.

Yes, otherwise I can't rest my left elbow whilst cruising!

Yes, but with a sliding arm rest I can rest left elbow and still hold the wheel. You may be alright being a bit taller.

Fantastic spec! So many toys!

I have the same visual spec and it looks great. Went to see it this weekend.

The only exterior difference is that I opted for a full rear and side de-badge. It's a subtle combination and I didn't see the need to proclaim its pace, and I've only got a 330ds...

Love the folding mirrors on my F10, don't forget also makes them auto dimming like the interior rear view. Can be a bit odd having them not dim.

Great specs for both cars.. I would say that though, given mine is pretty much the same, just an item here and there different!
