Would you buy?

After expanding my radius to travel, I came across an 335is with every option it; including the red interior. But after talking to the salesman about the vehicle, the car apparantly had the turbos replaced due to running over a big bump during a test drive. He told me the turbos hang slightly under the car and if you run over a high enough bump, you can damage it like this one. It has been fully replaced by the BMW dealership and they have the receipt for it. Also, the bottom of the front bumper is slightly damaged but still has the original bumper on there. BMW has voided the car's warrantly but they added a 3rd party warrantly that covers the BMW's and alittle more. For 27k millage for $30k would you do it? Why would BMW void their warrantly if they are the ones who replaced the turbos?

Fishy to say the least....

"BMW has voided the car's warrantly" there is more to the story if BMW voided the warranty. I would avoid.

You have to ask.... So why did BMW void the warranty?

Because they know shit isn't right and they don't want to cover the problems!

theres a huge undertray under the car, plus the turbos arent dangling down. probably a major accident. any "bump" that damaged the bottom of the car that bad would have destoyed the front end in the process.

Doesn't sound too reliable. Unless you're bank account is prepared to cover all things not covered under 3rd party warranty, i would stay awaayyyyyyyyyy

Do I hear a ticking time bomb? They're just waiting for a sucker to sell it to. Steer clear OP and keep searching.

That sounds like a BS story if I've ever heard one. Turbos just "dangling" out under the car, waiting for any "bump" to come knock them off the car? And then BMW mysteriously voids the warranty?? Are you kidding me?? HAHA!!

BMW won't void a warranty unless something else was going on here - the car must have been seriously modified, and I suspect that was probably the cause of the turbo replacement AND warranty being voided. You can hit all the big bumps you like, even drive the car into a wall - accidents happen. But BMW won't void a warranty over an accident. They void warranties when customers modify their cars.

I'd stay far away. The car sounds like a problem waiting to happen, and the salesman giving you this line of BS sounds like a crook.

Look at the location of the turbo(s) I cant imagine a bump taking one out without demolishing half the engine block.

The story the salesman gave you is bs.

Did the driver hit a bump or a boulder? One hell of a speed bump. Seems to me that if the sales person isn't honest about what happened, I would avoid that dealer at all cost.

Absolutely wouldn't touch it. If a salesman told me that line about the turbos, I would just leave. Nothing good will come of that deal.

Oh boy, someone hit a bump and took out the turbos? What kind of a lame false story is that? And BMW voided the warranty on top of that (must have been heavily modified, abused and whatnot).
There is no way I'd touch that car, I wouldn't even buy from a salesman who thinks I am that clueless to buy that stupid story about turbos.
