Perfect 18" wheel / tire combo for e46 CSL

Gents,

I tracked my former e92 M3 extensively, but despite one track day at Knockhill, I've stuck to blitzing Scottish B roads with the CSL that I've owned since moving to Scotland in July. I am to the point that I'd like to stick some lightweight 18" wheels on the car to optimize handling.

I need a wheel that will clear the 356mm AP bbk up front, so the APEX ARC-8 is likely the one to get. I've found a dealer in france, but have questions on the best size and if I need spacers.

Any suggestions on the best wheel / tire size combo for an unmodified suspension? Favoring Michelin PSCups as I ran a couple sets on my e92 and they aren't all that bad in the wet.

To be completely honest, I am starting a thread to save on search time. If someone has experience with e46s and can chime in, it would be greatly appreciated.

any progress since then? thinking about the same: change my BBS 19" to Apex Arc8 (the ones that look like CSL) , but it's a bit hard to decide , coz noone in Russia ever used Apex.. Does the front axle differs from rear?

Are the new wheels the same look as oem csl wheels, as they are the best ever, i would never change that look.
