Exhaust valve Open: how to
Does anyone know the proper way of zip tying the mechanism that keeps the valve open? Is there a how to? What is recommended? Zip ties? Or wire?
I am looking for an increase I'n noise without upgrading exhaust. Thanks. |

Check it out, halfway down the thread. I managed to do it and I'm not handy at all. Noticed a slight increase, but not as much as the 650 on the clip.

Great!! Maybe we can do it together!.. I will be honest I Really like the trapezoid exhaust. I think I will do that but retain the original look. i just need a little more noise.

I just did this mod and it took 5 minutes .
I used 10 inch zip ties. It was easy considering the maneuverability of the long ties. The slight increase in sound (10%~15%) . Honestly It is not really noticeable unless it's a cold start. Verdict: this car needs mufflers/ exhuast's. |

I cannot figure out where those vacuum springs are on a 2011 535i.
Instead, I found a connector (looks similar to the E92 golf tee mod connector) on the left side just between the diffuser and muffler tucked in. I unplugged it, did notice a slight increase in noise, Although it threw a TPMS Error I am unsure if that plug was for the vacuum line for exhaust or the TMPS. ANY feedback if that connector is the right one, how I can find this setup for a 2011 535?

Do you know for sure the F10 535 doesn't come with the exhaust valve? Seems strange since I've been reading the 528 has it and so does the 550. Doesn't make sense that the 535 wouldn't. Can anyone with a 535 confirm this?

My E92 335 had valves and they were deactivated by unplugging the connector in the trunk. This does not appear to be the case for 535s.

I actually don't have a 535, which is why I was asking. I know you can check, I have it on my E90 335. I'm curious to know because I like it and will be sad if it's not on the 535.

The car doesn't sound anything like the 335 though. It is much much more quieter. Hope this helps.

May be for a 550, there are no valves on the 535 as OP was asking.
