Question BMW Air Conditioning Refresh - no perfume smell?

I had a/c refresh but there's no nice smell present (which fades after a week or so) - have I been tricked?

"Choose a Refresh if there are musty odours when you first switch on the engine, or when you adjust your air conditioning or temperature settings.

If your air conditioning takes too long to reach the temperature you want, or if it will not reach it at all, choose a Recharge.

BMW Air Conditioning Refresh.
Includes:

Clean and disinfect the evaporator
Clean and disinfect entire air duct system
Treat air vents and BMW interior

BMW Air Conditioning Recharge.
Includes:

Drain all refrigerant
Check system for leaks
Recharge refrigerant and lubricant
Check system operating pressures"

Go to your (local) BMW Dealer website, select Service and air conditioning should be on the left hand side in the list of links, mine cost about £50 (refresh) but no nice smell so I have no proof it's been done other than the invoice and word of the service advisor!

You can get products that actually work and will be a lot cheaper than the dealers.

I've recently been testing a product that Bilt Hamber sent me called Air Con Bomb Sanitizer, think it will be priced around £9 and is claimed to work for around 6 months.

Comma do something for £20 see Halfords site but it's very chemically and smells like a hospital even worse! Antibacterial deodoriser or something.

Should it not be the case when the air con system is clean and working well you get no smell?

I would say if it has no odour then it probably is fine.

In the past there's been nice smell for a week, like fresh flowers.... coming out of the air vents. Lovely.
