Anybody running spacers on msport 17's

After lowering my car on h&r sport springs the wheels are looking lost in the arches

I want to run wheel spacers to bring them out so they look nicer

I don't want them out so far that they will rub and ruin the arches

These are the wheels
Can anybody help?

Thanks

I usually run 18s but currently have 17s on with winter tyres. I've kept the same spacers, namely 15mm front and rear. You'll be fine with the same set-up.

How are you finding the ride quality with the H&Rs?
I'll be lowering mine soon, still contemplating between H&R and Eibachs but I would say I'm 90% set on the H&Rs at the moment...

Eh? Ride quality on H&Rs? I think you've misread my sig. I have Ohlins suspension - the H&Rs are spacers, which have no effect whatsoever on ride quality.

Personal opinion, if ride quality is important to you, avoid H&R springs like the plague! They give one of the hardest rides of any aftermarket springs. Obviously I'd recommend the Ohlins set up, but I appreciate that may be outside your budget. How about Eibach springs paired with KONI FSD dampers?

My question was to OP Phil

I wish I could afford Ohlins

I really like the drop on H&Rs after seeing a few other members with similar cars on similar setup (H&R with oem MSports) and at the moment it's feasible budget wise as well.

Reason I'm not leaning towards Eibachs are because of the minimal drop that other members have mentioned on MSports, so I am willing to compromise a little on the ride quality.

I think 17's will always look a bit lost in these arches. Even 18's look small in the front arch. Spacers should help a bit. I have 25mm on the rear of mine.

I don't want them to rub at all mind you?

The quality on the h&r's imo is pretty awesome. Obviously i haven't tried the eibachs but imo the ride is around 90% as comfortable as oem.

It is in no way jarring or a harsh ride. I am rather impressed. Obviously i have had cars in the past with kw coilovers etc so to me the ride is more than comfortable.

My other half has eibach sportlines on her mkV golf and my h&r's are nowhere near as harsh as hers. I would honestly say if you didnt know it was lowered as a passenger i doubt you'd even be able to tell the ride was anything but stock

And im running the 17's as

A) i like them
B) the tyre's are reasonable. Well as reasonable as runflats can be
C) the ride is good

This is my understanding of H&R springs, & probably why I have kept the money in my pocket for now & not made a move on springs.

To be honest I'm quite happy with the ride height on the rear axle (M Sport), its just the front that could do with coming down a little. From what I've read Eibach does this (closes the arch), just not an aggressive drop.

I have h&rs and was prepared for the worst when i changed them. Surprisingly they arent that much different from msport springs. Its nowhere near as hard as people make out. No one who actually has them on here has said they are bone juddering. I think the stiff ride comments come from people who went from se to h&rs. Why not start a thread and ask people's opinions if h&rs.

Wasn't sure

So ordered one set at 15mm for the time being.

Will try them both on the back and front and see what i think.

Then i can judge if i need 20's for the back. Or run 12's up front

Will give me a rough idea
