Bc. moto (ebay seller help)
I took the forum's advice and purchased a m3 spoiler from bc. moto on ebay. The company is from Taiwan. Been waiting for it to arrive.
It should have arrived monday so i've checked the tracking code online. It comes up with this Guessing it will be getting sent back to Taiwan as they have paid the wrong postage costs possibly?? Does that sound about right? Anybody got any ideas? Also if it doesnt reach me im guessing i will have no issue getting a refund via ebay? Thanks |

They will be after you for the customs fees.
You must have been out when they tried to deliver. Same happened with mine, parcel force knocked on the door and I had to give them £14 to get the spoiler. |

Nothing to worry about they don't know how much you bought it for but they have kept the actual invoice i guess and HM Revenue and customs have calculated a customs duty on this item. Now you need to wait for a letter from Parcelforce with the the HM Customs calculated duty mentioned and the packet number and reference number where you can pay the duty online and they will deliver it. Its not because of they have paid lesser postage.
Have happened to me on couple of items i picked from ebay US. Hope this helps

Thats because Parcelforce want you to pay the customs fees. I had the same issue ordering from them. I got a letter in the post a few days later where they were asking me to pay £67 in fees (yes, more than item value - no idea how that was calculated).
Basically the first one I received was shit quality and ill fitting. I know people said that theirs were fine, but the paint was absolutely poor. Maybe standards have dropped. BC Moto sent another though. BC Moto declared it under £15 and as a gift for me on both occasions but Parcelforce had none of it. I decided not to go for it second time round (at the risk of it being equally poor quality) and let it go back to the seller. Buy cheap buy twice. I'm just going to buy another from the UK. I don't think you can blame the seller for the customs fees. Its the risk you take buying overseas. Last edited by bmwak; 12-10-2013 at 02:57 PM.. |

Stay away from taiwan stuff, i took the risk , email the seller to tell them to make sure the diffuser is correct before sending to me. My diffuser had a dent, does not fit, cost me 60 pound to ship back plus the 50 fee's.
I know its a hit n miss but really just save yourself hassles |

So basically i need to stump up the fee (which i don't want to do) in my eyes its £44 as advertised on ebay
Is there anyway to not pay the fee, let parcelforce send it back and reclaim my £44 |

It is £44, you just have to pay the import duty on top.

It's still going to be cheaper than most that you will find in the UK.

Its fairly standard when ordering things from outside the EU. Just got to pay up unfortunately.
Normally isnt too much, I had to pay import tax/duty on my front splitters but it was only around £15. |

Yes guess i'll have to pay £15
What if its something stupid though like £60 one of the other members had to pay? I certainly wont be paying that! If i decline to pay that can i get my £44 back via ebay Or is it basically lose £44 rather than lose 100 all in but you end up with possibly an ill fitting spoiler :O |

Mine was bought two weeks ago. Don't know if this is true but i'm told that customs can open the package and apply tax according to the RRP they can find of the item - should they feel the goods are declared as a gift, when quite clearly they are bought goods from a business seller. I don't know if this is what happened to mine to get the hiked up £67 customs charge. The first one was less but wasn't £14.
Even if you bought from UK eBay, it clearly states its coming from overseas with the following disclaimer - International items may be subject to customs processing and additional charges. I therefore don't think you'll be able to recover the cost via eBay if you don't like the customs charge. |

I bought mine from him and it was perfect. I got away with no import duty but if I remember his advert correctly he states he will send it as a gift of nominal value.
But.... If it gets snagged by customs you just have to cough up the duty. Jon

Like people have said, you import, you pay import duty, if its based upon value of goods, now if you get a silly charge for it, I am sure you have some kind of invoice from the seller, I would have thought you could present that and import duty would be calculated correctly, don't know if that is the case, yet cant see why not.
I have paid it lots of times, I know with I think DHL they try to get you with an admin fee too, yet I have never paid that as I never agreed for them to do the admin and agreed a fee, just paid the import duty. A lot of UK businesses buy cheap from these places and re-label and sell higher, so buying cheap is not always a bad thing
